<p>Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>We are seeking a hands-on Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to lead and coordinate the daily operations of our shipping and receiving department. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate, timely, and safe movement of materials in and out of our facility, which supports major automotive manufacturers. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable working alongside their team on the floor.</p> <p>Responsibility:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise and direct a team of shipping and receiving personnel, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training. </li><li>Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to schedule pickups and deliveries. </li><li>Ensure proper loading/unloading of trucks and verify that shipments are labeled, packaged, and documented correctly. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and discrepancies using ERP or shipping software. </li><li>Conduct regular inspections of shipping/receiving areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with OSHA and company standards. </li><li>Investigate and resolve shipping errors, delays, or damaged goods. </li><li>Implement and monitor KPIs to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high service levels. </li><li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lead process enhancements within the department. </li><li>Access and manage customer-specific portals to retrieve shipping schedules, order releases, and delivery requirements. </li><li>Generate and transmit Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs) using EDI systems to ensure timely and accurate communication of shipment details to customers. </li><li>Ensure all ASN data-including packaging, tracking, and item-level details-is accurate and compliant with customer specifications and industry standards (e.g., GS1 labels). </li><li>Collaborate with IT or EDI support teams to troubleshoot and resolve transmission errors or portal access issues. </li><li>Maintain compliance with customer-specific shipping protocols and documentation requirements. </li><li>Monitor and verify EDI transactions (e.g., 856 ASN, 850 PO) to ensure successful data exchange and timely order fulfillment. </li></ul> <p>Academic/Educational Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in logistics, supply chain, or business preferred. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive environment. </li><li>1+ years of supervisory or team lead experience. </li><li>Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, freight documentation, and transportation logistics. </li><li>Proficient with shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment (certification preferred). </li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, team-oriented approach. </li><li>Experience working with EDI systems and generating ASN documents (EDI 856). </li><li>Familiarity with customer portals used by major automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and understanding of labeling, packaging, and shipment documentation standards in the automotive industry. </li><li>Ability to interpret and act on electronic shipping schedules and order releases. </li></ul> <p>What Linamar Has to Offer</p> <ul> <li>Competitive Compensation </li><li>Employee Benefits package includes but not limited to, Drug, Dental & Vision etc. </li><li>401k Program </li><li>Opportunities for career advancement. </li><li>Sustainability Counsel </li><li>Community based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities. </li><li>Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts. </li></ul> <p>About Us</p> <p>Linamar Corporation is a Canadian-founded global manufacturer, renowned for its advanced engineering and innovative product development across diverse industries and markets.
