<p>The Assistant Coach (WAGE) provides assistance in specific aspects of coaching the Division II sport program including but not limited to: student-athlete recruitment, practice preparation and setup, and player development.</p> <p>This posting will support applications for Assistant Coaches (WAGE) for the following sports at UVA Wise:</p> <p>Football</p> <p>Women's Volleyball</p> <p>Women's Basketball</p> <p>Men's Basketball</p> <p>Women's Lacrosse</p> <p>Baseball</p> <p>Softball</p> <p>Tennis</p> <p>Golf</p> <p>Cross Country/Track & Field</p> <p>Wage Faculty and all personnel actions associated with them are governed and approved by the EVPP and policy PROV-026: Faculty Wage Employment.</p> <p>Assist in various aspects of the intercollegiate sport program including but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Attending practices and player conditioning </li><li>Participate actively in practices </li><li>Support student-athletes academic experience </li><li>Creating a positive and productive environment </li><li>Travel to away games and attend home games </li><li>Keep track of special statistics at games and practices </li><li>Communicate effectively and appropriately </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of records and information </li><li>Provide feedback to coach regarding players and team as necessary </li><li>Assist with setting up and clean-up of facilities before/after practices </li><li>Offer suggestions, guidance and information to athletes relating to the game and play </li><li>Providing encouragement and support </li><li>Helping to organize the team for practices and games </li><li>Communicating with Head Coach(es) and relevant issues or problems </li><li>Assisting with office duties as assigned </li><li>Actively listening and learning various sport specific techniques as instructed by coaches </li><li>Actively listening and learning various game strategies as instructed by coaches </li><li>Maintaining social media accounts and creating graphics to promote the program </li><li>In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Education: Degree preferred-Bachelors or Masters</p> <p>Experience: None</p> <p>Licensure: None</p> <p>The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.</p> <p>The University of Virginia is an equal opportunity employer.
