The Chinatown Service Center (CSC) is a nonprofit organization providing multilingual health and social services, employment training, and counseling in Greater Los Angeles. For further information on CSC, Visit our website at http://www.cscla.org.</p> <p>CSC'S Mission Statement:</p> <p>To provide outstanding services and advocacy that promote a better quality of life and equal opportunities for immigrants and other communities.</p> <p>CSC'S Vision Statement:</p> <p>Thriving Lives in Empowered Communities</p> <p>CSC'S Behavioral Health Department contributes to the Mission and Vision by:</p> <p>Providing outstanding mental health and substance use services to vulnerable populations, Championing advocacy and promoting positive life outcomes, and Embracing cultural competency and diversity.</p> <p>CSC'S Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health's Purpose:</p> <p>The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing quality patient care by assessing their medical history, taking vital signs, and performing necessary laboratory, health screening procedures and assist providers with patient care.</p> <p>As a Behavioral Health Medical Assistant at CSC, You will:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct initial patient assessment, vital signs, EKG, figure stick for Hemoglobin, blood glucose levels, perform urine dipstick and pregnancy test or other tests as needed </li><li>Perform accurate EHR documentation. </li><li>Obtain blood specimen from a patient by means of vein puncture of skin puncture according to standard clinic protocol and procedure. </li><li>Administer injection/ immunization as ordered by a medical BH provider. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness of the exam room and clinic room areas by utilizing infection control techniques. </li><li>Ensure supplies are stocked with necessary supplies and instruments. </li><li>Check refrigerator temperature twice daily and record it on the temperature log </li><li>Work collaboratively with CSC providers to assist clients in meeting their behavioral health goals </li><li>Verify and support enrollment in medical care, particularly for uninsured and underserved clients. </li><li>Refer clients to appropriate services within the care system to promote positive health outcomes and self-sufficiency, ensuring follow-through. </li><li>Provide advocacy and support to clients to assist in their navigation of various health and social systems </li><li>Coordinate care and ensure client is able to access needed behavioral health services within the agency or through various levels of care available in the community </li><li>Assist clients to address barriers related to engagement with behavioral health services such as providing appointment reminders and arranging for transportation </li><li>Collaborate with caregivers, physicians and nursing services, mental health providers, law enforcement, fire departments, and representatives of other service agencies to develop service plans, evaluation, and monitoring of cases. </li><li>Maintain client files according to agency policy and complete documentation promptly. </li><li>Participate actively in staff meetings to contribute to clinic development and staff training. </li><li>Travel to programs, events, or sites as needed. </li><li>May need to travel between sites to support providers. </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned based on the needs of BHD/CSC. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred, in a healthcare, social services, human services. </li><li>Medical Assistant Certified preferred. </li><li>Minimum 1-year of clinical experience preferred. </li><li>Computer literacy in any health information systems. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Bilingual/bicultural English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) or Spanish preferred. </li><li>Comfortable and knowledgeable about the healthcare and/or behavioral health industry. </li><li>Ability to display sensitivity to all cultures. </li><li>Self-motivated, self-driven, and able to work independently within the scope of assigned tasks with minimum supervision. </li><li>Resourceful and flexible in response to changing environments and needs. </li><li>Customer service skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including writing, speaking, verbal, in-person, and via telephone, email, and web posting correspondence. </li><li>Proficient in word processing and data entry using Macintosh, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. </li><li>Requires standby, flexibility, and/or call-back availability. </li><li>Field work may be required. </li><li>Reliable Transportation. </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. </li><li>Conflict management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Successfully meet the post-offer/pre-hire physical, and fingerprint, requirements and receive an eligibility status for the Level II Background Check required by the State of California. </li></ul> <p>CSC's Employees Enjoy:</p> <ul> <li>Daytime work hours;
