Maintains compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Safety transport patients utilizing Vanderbilt and Unit specific safety, policy and procedure and accreditation standards. Maintains equipment per regulatory and compliance standards. Responsible for effective communication to ensure safe and quality patient care with team, transport and handover.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma/GED </li><li>TN AEMT License </li><li>Valid Driver's License from state of residence </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>2-3 years of AEMT experience in a high-volume 911 system </li><li>NREMT </li><li>BLS (Basic Life Support) </li><li>Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) and VFK training </li><li>NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800 </li><li>Fundamentals Airway Course </li><li>PHTLS </li><li>Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) </li><li>S.T.A.B.L.E </li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high stress environment </li></ul> <p>Position - Shift</p> <ul> <li>Three (3) 12-hour shifts per week </li><li>Full-Time Night Shift </li></ul> <p>Sign-On Bonus Requirements</p> <p>The sign-on bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months. The sign-on bonus is only available for full-time positions.</p> <p>Department Summary</p> <p>As an EMT on our LifeFlight Critical Care Transport team you will be part of a dedicated team providing advanced care to critically ill patients. Our team is comprised of EMT/AEMT, Critical Care Paramedic, and a Critical Care RN. Our fully functional critical care ground ambulance is equipped with essential tools for advanced care, including blood products, full monitoring with invasive hemodynamic values, specialized equipment such as Hamilton T1 ventilator, ISTAT, Medtronic pacemaker, High flow Nasal Cannula, 8-channel IV pump, a vast amount of medications, and knowledge to operate VAD, Impella, IABP (Inter Aortic Balloon Pump), and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation). The AEMT will secure these medical devices in the ambulance. </li><li>Facilitates ambulance walk around, ambulance check-off, pre-brief, fatigue scores, risk assessments, and weekly or monthly base duties. </li><li>Chart audits. </li><li>Readying tiles for the blood cooler </li><li>Assess weather, road conditions, and any maintenance concerns with the ambulance. </li><li>The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned. </li></ul> <p>TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Maintains clinical proficiency and competency per regulatory and accreditation compliance. </li><li>Participates in (self and program) improvement activities and problem-solving projects. </li><li>Reviews current research and participate in applying findings for evidence-based practice. </li><li>Competent in documentation that accurately reflects care provided and meets LifeFlight documentation standards. </li><li>Competent in collaborative communication to facilitate quality patient care and ensure safe hand off when care is relinquishes at the accepting facility. </li><li>Able to utilize technology to facilitate use of additional resources, pharmacy resources, best practice resources, GPS, protocols, and inventory. </li></ul> <p>Allied health is among the fastest growing occupations in healthcare today.
