This will be position will support the</p> <p>Nursing Department in identifying safety and quality opportunities within the nursing departments. The Specialist will</p> <p>act as a subject expert consultant in best practices for performance improvement methodology as well as regulatory</p> <p>guidance. This position will gather data via chart audits, safety reports, and informatics reports and formulate data and</p> <p>clinical information into a meaningful presentable fashion for appropriate Nursing Committees/Councils and nursing</p> <p>leadership to make informed decisions based on accurate information. This position will be responsible for working with</p> <p>the nursing staff and nursing leadership to establish meaningful peer review audits for performance evaluation. This</p> <p>Nursing Quality & Patient Safety Specialist will function as the liaison between the nursing committees/councils, nursing</p> <p>performance improvement teams and patient safety initiatives in order to keep the nursing leadership informed and</p> <p>loop closure. This position will serve on Nursing committees related to quality and safety and work along with Risk</p> <p>Management to ensure processes are in place and monitored to support the success of change. In addition, this position</p> <p>will lead performance improvement teams that nursing deems important to improve the process and care of the</p> <p>patients. This position requires excellent communication skills, clinical skills, critical thinking, understanding of the</p> <p>nursing process, project management skills, regulatory, patient safety, data analysis, team building, and change</p> <p>leadership skills.</p> <p>EDUCATION:</p> <p>Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree of Nursing</p> <p>Preferred: Masters of Nursing or related field.</p> <p>LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current RN License</p> <p>Preferred: BLS</p> <p>Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality</p> <p>(CPHQ) Specialty Certification (i.e. OCN, CCRN, CNOR)</p> <p>Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS)</p> <p>Clinical Nurse Specialist/ Clinical Nurse Leader</p> <p>Minimum Required Experience: Registered Nurse Clinical Experience 5 Years</p> <p>Experience with leading evidence-based practice or performance improvement initiatives at the unit level</p> <p>Developing and implementing action plans.</p> <p>Essential Function:</p> <p>Develop and maintain an expertise in the field of data analysis, performance improvement, peer review, nursing policies</p> <p>and standards, and related Joint Commission standards, including Provision of Patient Care and Waived Testing</p> <p>Job Specific Duties:</p> <p>Monitor literature and other sources related to nursing performance improvement and patient safety to identify</p> <p>best practices and measurement</p> <p>Active involvement in professional societies</p> <p>Educate nurses about the principles of performance improvement and management of data</p> <p>Educate nurses about the use of performance improvement data in a Fair and Just Culture</p> <p>Monitor changes in and become an expert resource for the Joint Commission Provision of Patient Care and Waived</p> <p>Testing standards</p> <p>Essential Function:</p> <p>Coordinate the identification, selection, monitoring of nursing specific quality and patient safety indicators</p> <p>Job Specific Duties:</p> <p>Assist nursing in selection and evaluation of quality and safety monitors</p> <p>Determine best sources for pertinent monitors and coordinate their collection</p> <p>Monitor NDNQI and Press Ganey nursing indicator results</p> <p>Assist with the administration, monitoring and reporting of Nursing Satisfaction Survey</p> <p>Share:</p>
