<p>General Summary:</p> <p>Process unpaid patient accounts, looking for forms of payment prior to sending to an outside agency for further collection activity.</p> <p>Provide backup support to Patient Account Representatives.</p> <p>Works under the supervision of the Business Services Supervisor.</p> <p>Principal Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>Example of Essential Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Reviews outstanding delinquent account balances. Follows and reports status of delinquent accounts. </li><li>Determines accounts for assignment to collection agency. </li><li>Follows up on unpaid claims and resubmits claims to insurance carriers. </li><li>Works with accounts that have bankruptcies, deceased patients as well as patients with prior credit issues. </li><li>Will be required to work with multiple systems and programs. </li><li>Input all information related to patient's account into computer system as permanent record and make appropriate notes. </li></ul> <p>Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Reconciles account balances if necessary. </li><li>Backup PARs as needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent service skills required. </li><li>Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame. </li><li>Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed. </li><li>Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Medical Billing and Medical Terminology knowledge preferred. </li></ul>
