We are looking for a Shipping Supervisor Monday through Friday to join our Production team at our GripNail plant in East Providence, RI. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading shipping personnel and the execution of all shipping functions that are required to ensure customer fulfillment. Furthermore, this position is tasked with owning key general facility items.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide guidance to Shipping employees on a daily basis. </li><li>Lead the Shipping department's effort to reduce waste through the use of SQDC boards and corrective action sheets. </li><li>Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product and standards of work. </li><li>Assures proper PPE is used per plant requirements. </li><li>Clearly and regularly communicates pertinent performance, work schedule, and activities to the plant manager and leads daily toolbox meetings. </li><li>Ensure products are shipped accurately. Interfaces with others in organization to ensure customer deadlines are met. </li><li>Conduct basic employee feedback - performance evaluations, written disciplinary actions and counseling, and employees adherence to Standard Work and Job Instructions. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Education - High School diploma or GED required </li><li>Three (3) years shipping experience preferred </li><li>Computer skills (email, Microsoft Office suite, shipping software, etc.) </li><li>SAP experience is a preferred. </li><li>International shipments (UPS and Freight) </li><li>Effective communication and problem solving skills </li><li>Ability to effectively motivate and lead employees </li><li>Understanding of math, reading, and writing skills </li><li>Possesses a strong safety awareness attitude </li><li>Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:</p> <p>This position conducts their work in a manufacturing environment with some exposure to the outdoors; there is exposure to loud machinery, fumes, odors, and dust. The plant floor is not temperature controlled. Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked.</p> <p>For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 55 pounds frequently. There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping and pushing and pulling constantly up to 55 pounds.
