<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Greenville Recreation and Parks Department is currently recruiting Summer Camp Art Instructors to provide daily guidance and instruction to campers. This position will lead camp activities and actively participate with campers while planning and directing a portion of daily art activities. Other duties include assisting other counselors, maintaining attendance records, and other paperwork as required.</p> <p>Minimum Age:18 years old, as of May 12, 2026</p> <p>Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour</p> <p>Summer Art Camps Dates (Monday - Friday):</p> <ul> <li>June 23 - June 26, 2026 </li><li>July 6 - July 11, 2026 </li><li>July 13 - July 17, 2026 </li><li>July 20 - July 24, 2026 </li><li>July 27 - July 31, 2026 </li></ul> <p>> Famous Artist Camp has 5 week-long sessions which run from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.</p> <p>> Young Potter's Wheel Camp is 5 weeks long and runs from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.</p> <p>Instructors are not required to work every session of camp to be considered for a position.</p> <p>All staff are expected to attend mandatory training before camp starts</p> <p>This is a continuous posting and may close at any time</p> <p>Examples of Duties</p> <ul> <li>Supervise campers and lead activities; </li><li>Daily guidance of campers; </li><li>Actively participate with campers; </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Prior art experience in painting, drawing, sewing, clay, or crafts; </li><li>Ability to throw on the potter's wheel is required for the Youth Pottery Wheel; and </li><li>Valid CPR and First Aid/AED certifications are required before the start of camp. </li></ul> <p>Preferred, not required qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Major in college art education and/or graduate of a four-year degree program in art. </li><li>Previous experience working with children aged 6 - 15 years old in art, recreation, or a music setting. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>elements & principles of art. </li><li>classroom management techniques. </li></ul> <p>Skilled in:</p> <ul> <li>painting, drawing, sewing, clay, and crafts. </li><li>multi-media art and sculpture. </li></ul> <p>Ability to:</p> <ul> <li>plan and execute lesson plans. </li><li>educate & guide campers with projects. </li></ul>
