<p>Description</p> <p>REPORTS TO: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER</p> <p>Electrical Designers create and design the electrical systems and electrical diagrams needed to operate PRI systems equipment.</p> <p>This is a critical role for the company; this position ensures proper electrical design of the system to make sure it works as designed and meets functional and customer driven specifications.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Design panel layout and other electrical submission drawings for client approval and to ensure PRI equipment operates as intended </li><li>Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, plus all other departments in Manufacturing </li><li>Ensure that electrical installations comply with Class 1 Division 1 & 2 locations and Intrinsically Safe electrical requirements per the National Electric Code </li><li>Review electrical drawings and bill of materials required to assemble panels </li><li>Install, pipe, and wire industrial control panels, piping interconnects, and cable raceways </li><li>Cut openings, mount parts, drill/tap holes as needed </li><li>Install all necessary cables and wires to their proper connections inside the enclosures and device end-point terminations </li><li>Test and troubleshoot completed systems and make necessary corrections </li><li>Record data and write reports to provide feedback to engineering on future design improvement ideas </li><li>Understand the operation of all equipment to ensure proper assembly and operation </li><li>Provide assistance to other areas of Manufacturing as needed </li><li>Some travel to customer sites to support field service requests </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Certificate or equivalent education/experience in electrical design or electrical automation technology </li><li>Demonstrated aptitude for working with electro-mechanical systems such as pumps, piping, pneumatics, PLC's, liquid level controls, etc.; Strong understanding of electrical schematics and PLC's. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of PLC controls </li><li>Previous experience with Safety procedures such as lockout/tagout, arc flash protection, and confined space entry </li><li>Experience writing reports and reviewing project files </li><li>Strong communication skills; ability to perform in pressure situations; ability to be flexible </li><li>Able to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a team, all with a high degree of professionalism </li><li>Maneuver heavy equipment, up to 50lbs of lifting required </li><li>Hands on experience with fabrication and service of large process equipment </li><li>Advanced understanding of process flow schematics, P&ID's, electrical and mechanical schematics. </li><li>Safe operation of hand and power tools </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. </li><li>Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. </li><li>Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. </li><li>Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. </li><li>Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. </li><li>Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. </li><li>Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. </li><li>Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward </li><li>Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals </li></ul>
