<p>Position: Director, Pricing</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Director, Pricing will provide analytical and pricing support to our business service offerings. The position Utilize customers' current shipping data and available market data in Forward Air Inc. analysis models to prepare customer-specific profit and loss forecasts that enable the analyst to make appropriate pricing recommendations and decisions. The Director, Pricing will be leading and managing personnel to all initiatives related to the Routing Guide Cost Model and be responsible for impactful outcome for the company.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities & Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Strategic alignment, leadership, direction and support in Operation management and client communication including but not limited to successful Business Reviews with clients relating to enterprise pricing initiatives </li><li>Create a standardized process to reduce loss making customers and keep profitable customers based on Routing Guide Cost Model </li><li>Improve and advance the cost information system for better decision making on a regular basis </li><li>Roll-out and responsible for using data analytical cost base </li><li>Develop understanding of customer's transportation needs and service requirements </li><li>Participate in cross-functional/cross-regional projects to improve the pricing infrastructure across the entire enterprise </li><li>Coordinate development of project plans and timelines with other team members throughout the enterprise </li><li>Ability to engineer end to end applications using process engineering techniques and software development paradigms (SDLC, BPM, waterfall, agile, etc.) </li><li>Expertise in business, marketing, pricing, and revenue management analytics </li><li>Solid understanding of quantitative and statistical approaches to business analysis related to revenue analytics and revenue optimization </li><li>Respond and support for RFQ's, RFP's and RFI's as needed and in a timely manner </li><li>Analyze market and industry trends for overall price effectiveness </li><li>Analyze both existing and potential business opportunities for the organization </li><li>Develop effective business proposals and bid packages </li><li>Ad hoc reporting and analysis pertaining to customer revenue, profit margins and service </li><li>Develop financial models and reports for ad hoc analyses to support different internal initiatives </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain or equivalent industry experience in transportation or logistics industry </li><li>Minimum three years' experience in transportation </li><li>Possess strong relationships with air freight, ocean carriers, airlines, and freight forwarders </li><li>Knowledge of FMC rules and regulations </li><li>Previous tariff, rates, accessorial pricing, class, and commodities experience </li><li>Experience reviewing and negotiating transportation contracts </li><li>MS Excel expertise is required, MS Access experience is preferred </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple stakeholders in Operations, IT, HR, and Finance </li><li>Minimal travel is required (Less than 10%) </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Ideal candidate will possess a "can do" attitude with a "will do" work ethic </li><li>Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations </li><li>Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment </li><li>General computer skills - Microsoft Office & Outlook </li></ul> <p>Forward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.</p>
