<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Instruction:</p> <ul> <li>Plans, select, instruct, supervises and evaluates students experiences in the classroom and clinical areas. Demonstrates effective interactive skill. </li><li>Conducts lectures, class discussions or other appropriate learning activities in assigned courses using best practices in the teaching and clinical practice. </li><li>Maintains competencies in theoretical knowledge and clinical skills pertaining to assigned teaching and clinical areas. </li><li>Participates in course development, implementation and evaluation. Revises syllabus. </li><li>Directs students in their use of various resources. </li></ul> <p>Management:</p> <ul> <li>Participates in curriculum development, implementation and evaluation. </li><li>Maintains adequate and accurate records of student grades and clinical progress. Keeps students informed of progress. </li><li>Keeps office hours and adheres to course schedules. </li><li>Reviews and assists in selection of texts and/or other material. </li></ul> <p>Student Advisement and Guidance:</p> <ul> <li>Keeps current on academic policies and procedure. </li><li>Counsels students as indicated and makes appropriate referrals as necessary. Holds conferences and evaluates students' progress. </li><li>Maintains advisement load and participates in pre-nursing advisement as assigned. </li><li>Demonstrates a positive attitude toward advisement and guidance of students. Keeps students appointments. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development:</p> <ul> <li>Attends workshops and other educational programs annually to upgrade teaching abilities and clinical skills pertinent to areas of instruction. </li><li>Develops professional development plan in conjunction with Department Chair. </li><li>Maintains good working relationships with the department, college and the clinical agencies. </li></ul> <p>College/ Community Service:</p> <ul> <li>Serves on faculty committees and attends schedules departmental and divisional meetings. Assists in orientation of new faculty. </li><li>Participates in special college projects. </li></ul> <p>Midlands Technical College is dedicated to providing excellent service to its students, employees, and the community.</p> <p>This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Master's degree in Nursing and at least two (2) years of recent applicable clinical experience. Must be a Registered Nurse and currently licensed to practice nursing in South Carolina.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Teaching experience is preferred.</p>
