<p>Procurement Manager - Manufacturing Operations</p> <p>Location: Pensacola, FL</p> <p>Reports to: Materials & Planning Manager</p> <p>Scope: Procurement Team (4 Buyers) - Site-level Leadership</p> <p>Role Summary</p> <p>The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading all sourcing and purchasing activities within the Pensacola manufacturing facility. This role ensures material availability, cost control, supplier quality, and compliance through disciplined execution of the ASD Lean Operating System. Reporting to the Materials & Planning Manager, this position drives supplier performance, team development, and cost improvement initiatives that support production continuity, inventory targets, and SQDCCP performance. The Procurement Manager partners closely with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to deliver reliable supply, safe supplier engagement, and continuous improvement in all procurement processes.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities 1. Procurement Leadership & Supplier Management</p> <ul> <li>Lead daily procurement operations ensuring 100% material availability and supplier on-time delivery. </li><li>Manage and develop a team of four buyers, providing coaching and accountability through daily Tier 1-2 meetings and Leader Standard Work (LSW). </li><li>Establish and manage supplier relationships to support OHD's long-term cost, quality, and delivery objectives. </li><li>Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules to achieve productivity and cost-reduction goals. </li><li>Maintain dual-source strategies for critical commodities to reduce risk and ensure supply continuity. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>System Discipline & Materials Alignment </li></ol> <ul> <li>Integrate procurement activities with SIOP, production planning, and scheduling to ensure end-to-end supply chain synchronization. </li><li>Ensure accurate and timely data entry across ERP/MRP systems (MXP, JD Edwards, Oracle) supporting enterprise data integrity. </li><li>Drive compliance to ASD procurement policies, approval workflows, and vendor qualification processes. </li><li>Collaborate with Materials & Planning and Operations to meet inventory turns, PPV, and service level targets. </li></ul> <ol start="3"> <li>Safety, Quality & Compliance </li></ol> <ul> <li>Model ASD's 'Safety First' culture by ensuring vendor and employee adherence to all plant safety procedures. </li><li>Partner with EHS and Maintenance to verify supplier safety compliance, certifications, and material handling standards. </li><li>Uphold the Quality Control Plan and participate in supplier quality reviews and corrective action processes. </li><li>Ensure alignment between procurement specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. </li></ul> <ol start="4"> <li>Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization </li></ol> <ul> <li>Lead cost-reduction projects through Lean sourcing, supplier consolidation, and process improvement. </li><li>Utilize PDCA and root cause analysis for supply disruptions, pricing escalations, and delivery failures. </li><li>Support standardization and simplification of procurement processes aligned to ASD Lean Operating System principles. </li><li>Track and report KPI performance; drive countermeasures through tiered management routines. </li></ul> <ol start="5"> <li>Team Development & Leadership </li></ol> <ul> <li>Develop buyer and sourcing specialist capability through structured coaching and cross-training. </li><li>Conduct performance reviews and create individual development plans aligned with ASD leadership expectations. </li><li>Reinforce accountability through LSW, daily huddles, and problem-solving coaching. </li><li>Foster collaboration, empowerment, and ownership within the procurement team. </li></ul> <p>Leadership Expectations</p> <ul> <li>Leads with discipline, data, and respect - modeling OHD leadership standards. </li><li>Operates as a system leader, integrating procurement performance with plant and enterprise objectives. </li><li>Builds team engagement through transparency, recognition, and collaboration. </li><li>Communicates clearly and holds self and others accountable for results. </li><li>Champions safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all procurement activities. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (Master's preferred). </li><li>5+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership of buyers or procurement professionals. </li><li>Strong background in sourcing metals, chemicals, adhesives, and MRO supplies. </li><li>Demonstrated success managing supplier performance and cost improvement. </li><li>ERP/MRP proficiency - experience with MXP, JD Edwards, and Oracle preferred. </li><li>Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Strong understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement mindset. </li></ul> <p>Position Impact</p> <p>The Procurement Manager plays a critical role in ensuring material flow reliability, supplier performance, and cost efficiency.
