<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The primary responsibilities are to provide push in and pull out enrichment services supporting core academic concepts as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identified students. The enrichment teacher identifies students for enrichment classes based on predetermined criteria. The teacher creates lesson plans and supports 2nd-6th grade teachers with enrichment resources for their classrooms.</p> <p>The enrichment teacher collaborates with staff to co-plan, co-deliver, and individualize instruction for all students in a class; work together creatively to accommodate special needs, diversity and educational backgrounds of the students; and overcome instructional challenges constructively. The teacher is a hardworking, goal-oriented and enthusiastic professional with excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the Missouri Learning Standards and Common Core State Standards.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Create inquiry-driven interdisciplinary lessons for high ability students </li><li>Value academic, social, and emotional growth within each student. </li><li>Facilitate innovative project-based learning experiences that allow students to learn by exploring and creating. </li><li>Ground lessons in the Framework of 21st Century Learning . </li><li>Assign tasks that are intellectually challenging to students </li><li>Help students develop the needed social skills that will allow them to function in our society as productive members. </li><li>Collaborate continuously with colleagues to share ideas, plan lessons, and form positive relationships </li><li>Serve as a resource for teachers </li><li>Provide students with opportunities for interaction with the community, state, and national resources. </li><li>Monitor student's progress keeps appropriate records and prepares reports on a regular basis. </li><li>Facilitate "hands-on" activities and projects that allow students to learn by doing and exploring. </li><li>Maintain a clean and organized classroom. </li><li>Use discipline models of BIST and Love & Logic to maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment. </li><li>Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. </li><li>Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures. </li><li>Provides a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process. </li><li>Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. </li><li>Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment. </li><li>Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community. </li><li>Assume responsibility for meeting his/her course and school-wide student performance goals. </li><li>Select equipment and instructional materials and maintain inventory records. </li><li>Demonstrate gains in student performance </li><li>Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating, etc. </li><li>Act in a professional and ethical manner at all times and comply with school policies, procedures, and expectations. </li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education </li><li>Valid Missouri teaching certificate </li><li>Demonstrated success in urban education </li><li>The desire to continue professional development </li><li>Excellent organization skills and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activities </li><li>Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and an ability to keep multiple stakeholder groups, including parents, teachers, staff, volunteers and partners, informed of critical issues, activities and schedules. </li><li>Excellent work ethic, positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to perform tasks assigned </li><li>Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and teachers in the school environment and community. </li><li>Must pass an extensive background check. </li></ul> <p>Expected Salary - One of your application questions will ask you to indicate your expected salary.
