<p>The Outdoor Program Marketing Specialist is responsible for assisting the Campus Recreation Marketing Coordinator with promoting the WSU Outdoor Program's programs, services, and events. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with department social media venues (with authorization of supervisor), following best practices for social media/photography/videography, organizing and facilitating tabling events, distributing and maintaining inventory of promotional materials, conducting promotional presentations, assisting with assessment efforts including tracking/evaluating activities, participating in required training/meetings, and assisting with other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Marketing Coordinator.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Solid interpersonal communication, teamwork and customer service skills. Attention to detail. Strong communication and organizational skills. </li><li>Experience managing and creating content for social media (primarily Instagram) </li><li>Must be flexible; mornings, days, nights, weekends, breaks. </li><li>This position is 50/50 eligible, student must be enrolled full-time and have at least a 2.0 GPA in order to qualify. </li><li>Read, understand, and abide by all employee policies and procedures as stated in the Outdoor Program employee policy and procedures manual. </li><li>Perform other duties as specified by the Outdoor Program Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator and/or Rental Manager, and Marketing Coordinator. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Passion and enthusiasm for Outdoor Recreation, and a willingness to go on Outdoor Program trips. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Rush, Lightroom) and graphic design principles. Experience with photography and photo/video editing. Ability to work under pressure and produce work before deadlines. Experience with special events, tabling and public speaking. Basic understanding of WSU Campus Recreation. Demonstrated ability to work</p> <p>in a positive, collaborative manner with Campus Rec participants, coworkers and professional staff. The applicant must be outgoing and willing to help plan activities and events. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading., Required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as: operating machines, (i.e. lathes, drill presses, power saws) where the job is at or within arm's reach; skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, plumber, mechanic. , Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection). The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).</p>
