<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>National Geographic is seeking a dynamic strategic partner to the President of National Geographic, Content. This key leadership role will drive operational excellence, facilitate executive decision-making, and ensure alignment across teams. This position will report directly to the President, National Geographic Content.</p> <p>This role will act as a trusted advisor, problem solver, culture carrier, and effective communicator, significantly contributing to the execution of National Geographic's strategic vision. In this position you will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide breadth of areas - high-level strategy, organizational culture, business prioritization, communications, and more. As such, this role demands a deep thinker with analyst qualities who can both sweat the details without losing sight of the bigger and broader business vision.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <p>Strategic Alignment and Execution:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Partner closely with the President to develop, communicate, and execute the strategic vision of National Geographic.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure executive priorities are effectively articulated, cascaded, and executed across all organizational levels.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate long-term planning, strategic goal setting, and priority alignment with internal stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Enable the President and Executive Team with the right information at the right time for decision-making</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct research, analysis, and due diligence on key strategic and operational matters.</p> </li></ul> <p>Operational Leadership:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage the operational rhythm of the O?ce and Executive Team including driving optimization of the President's time, schedule, and priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor and lead President's Executive Assistant fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.</p> </li><li> <p>Drive structure, content (e.g. assets, presentation), and timely execution of:</p> </li><li> <p>National Geographic All-Hands Meetings</p> </li><li> <p>President's Executive Weekly Leadership Meetings and Offsites/Events</p> </li><li> <p>C-Suite Executive Creative and Strategy Meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Nat Geo Society and Nat Geo Board Presentations and Meetings</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with Finance to monitor and manage President's Office budget</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee and manage President's recurring leadership meetings owning agenda development and meeting execution in partnership with Executive Assistant</p> </li><li> <p>Lead and execute special initiatives, strategic projects, and/or cross-functional efforts as directed by the President</p> </li></ul> <p>Communication and Coordination:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage an e?ective informational network within the organization to deeply understand needs and challenges via pulse checks.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as a central liaison and bridge, effectively managing communication between the President, executive leadership, and broader National Geographic staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate executive decision-making by synthesizing complex information and providing clear, actionable insights.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure clarity and alignment of consistent messaging internally and externally, reflecting National Geographic's mission and values.</p> </li><li> <p>Work in deep collaboration and partnership with Corp Communications, Internal Communications, and PR Communications teams for key internal presentations and gatherings including All-Staff meetings, org-facing announcements, timely communications and memos.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent the President in key meetings and events as necessary, ensuring alignment and continuity.</p> </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum 8 years of professional management experience</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to use good judgement when navigating complexity</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates care in keeping sensitive information confidential</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional diplomacy and tact</p> </li><li> <p>Effective influencer and collaborator</p> </li><li> <p>History of driving complex projects in the face of ambiguity</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient/Expert in Microsoft Suite and Apple Keynote</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent organization and attention to detail</p> </li><li> <p>Driven proactive learner with growth mindset</p> </li><li> <p>Strong orientation to company culture</p> </li><li> <p>High sense of responsibility and team mindset</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated excellent time management and prioritization</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>MBA or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Previous media experience</p> </li><li> <p>Experience supporting senior executive or C-suite leadership</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required </li></ul> <p>The hiring range for this position in Washington, D.C. is $113,800.00 to $152,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.</p>
