Supports local Main Street directors and volunteers through outreach, site visits, and training. Connects communities to NetWork Kansas resources, revitalization programs, and arts grants. Promotes downtown revitalization as an economic development strategy across Kansas.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:</p> <p>Program Operations</p> <ul> <li>Implements the re-establishment of the Kansas Main Street Coordinating Program with the National Main Street Center. </li><li>Follows re-establishment of the program, by coordinating and supervising all elements of the Kansas Main Street program, assuring that the program operates within the proven standards of the Main Street Four Point Approach. </li><li>Manages and monitors the budget for the Kansas Main Street Program </li><li>Serves as the primary liaison to the National Main Street Center, inclusive of annual reporting, reinvestment data, and accreditation processes for local Main Street organizations. </li></ul> <p>Technical Assistance and Training</p> <ul> <li>Works in coordination with the local Main Street executive directors and volunteers through regular contact, periodic on-site visits, meetings, web-based trainings, and written information </li><li>Coordinates, plans and delivers state and local downtown revitalization conferences and workshops </li><li>Assists local Main Street programs in strategic planning, business recruitment and retention strategies, work plan development, market analysis and implementation of historic design plans. </li><li>Assists with local Main Street organizations' board and volunteer development. </li></ul> <p>Marketing</p> <ul> <li>Promotes and markets services of the Kansas Main Street program to communities interested in pursuing downtown revitalization as an economic development tool </li><li>This will include activities designed to increase the number of communities applying designated status and helping to prepare communities for the competitive process </li><li>Develops promotional materials for the program itself, training opportunities, program services and other opportunities as deemed necessary </li><li>Serves as a subject matter expert on Main Street and its place as an economic development tool. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>One years' experience working with or in a local Main Street program or similar urban planning, historic preservation or business incubator type endeavor. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and three years' experience in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:</p> <p>Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate required in accordance with Executive Order 2004-03.
