The salary range for this role is $60,000-$75,000.</p> <p>What you'll be responsible for:</p> <p>The Assistant Director, Disabilities and Inclusion plays a vital role in advancing JUF's Disabilities and Inclusion agenda. This role emphasizes building collaborative partnerships, expanding residential service offerings, and being an advocate and issue area leader on the needs of individuals with disabilities in the Jewish community. You will manage JUF's Encompass Program which focuses on the needs of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families and help centralize JUF efforts in the broader disabilities and inclusion space.</p> <p>What you'll be doing:</p> <p>Community Planning</p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain relationships with JUF-Encompass agency partners (JCFS Keshet, Libenu and Yachad), and convene the Encompass members to help facilitate greater resource-sharing, service coordination, collaboration, training, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities and our Encompass partner organizations. </li><li>Develop and implement a system to track community inquiries and requests related to disability services and support (Encompass). </li><li>Collaborate with the JUF Data Team in support of the Disabilities Shared Outcomes Cohort and provide project support for JUF's emerging literacy effort. </li><li>Assist with meeting facilitation, material preparation, and grant processes relating to JUF's Disabilities Working Group and the Encompass Advisory Group. Both groups are tasked with grantmaking aimed at strengthening disability services in the local Jewish community. </li><li>Work cross-departmentally with colleagues in Community Outreach and Engagement, Campaign, and Legacies and Endowments to support data-informed storytelling, reporting, and fundraising for Encompass and JUF Disabilities and Inclusion efforts. </li></ul> <p>Advocacy and Referral</p> <ul> <li>Work with JUF Government Affairs Team to elevate disability service needs and public policy advocacy opportunities impacting individuals with disabilities and their families, including traveling to Springfield for JUF's annual Springfield Advocacy Day. </li><li>Serve as the initial JUF point of contact for community members seeking assistance navigating the disability service landscape. </li><li>Represent the interests of JUF and Encompass members in relevant coalition and association meetings. </li><li>Conduct warm referrals to agency partners to connect individuals and families with appropriate resources and services. Manage follow-up to determine if connections were made. </li></ul> <p>Inclusion</p> <ul> <li>Partner with JUF TOV and Young Leadership Division to enhance the Peer Program and other efforts focused on fostering welcoming and inclusive spaces. </li><li>Identify and facilitate training opportunities for Jewish providers on designing and implementing inclusive programming. </li></ul> <p>What you need to succeed:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., social work, nonprofit management, disability studies) or relevant lived experience and expertise in this arena. </li><li>4+ years of professional or personal experience working with people with disabilities. </li><li>Strong meeting facilitation and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across various organizations. </li><li>2-4 years' experience in community planning, advocacy, or related areas. </li><li>Experience serving as a point of contact for clients, community members, or constituents, including needs assessment and referral coordination. </li><li>Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills. </li><li>Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite of Products, and able to quickly learn new software systems. </li><li>Ability to contribute to a professional, positive, responsive, and solutions-oriented work environment. </li><li>Knowledge of Jewish community organizations and disability inclusion initiatives is preferred. </li></ul> <p>What you'll love about us:</p> <p>At JUF, you can be part of one of the largest non-profit social welfare institutions in Illinois. Tuesdays-Thursdays, the standard work location is 30 South Wells Street in Chicago, and staff are expected to work in person. We have a 36.5 hour work week, not a 40 hour work week. Our work hours are 8:30am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-4pm Friday with a daily 1 hour lunch break.</p> <p>Job Category: Union Eligible</p>
