<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION: Full-Time Maintainer</p> <p>The Putnam Public School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Maintainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring our school facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained to support an optimal learning environment for our students.</p> <p>This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Director and/or Assistant Director of School Facilities.</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Facilities Maintenance: Perform a variety of tasks, including interior painting (hallways, classrooms, offices), minor repairs (doors, plumbing), and general upkeep of both the interior and exterior of buildings. </li><li>Equipment Upkeep: Inspect, repair, and maintain a wide range of facility equipment and machinery, from lawnmowers and snow equipment to power tools and floor machines. </li><li>Grounds & Snow Removal: Assist with snow removal during all snow events and perform grounds work, including power washing and parking lot painting. </li><li>Work Orders & Projects: Complete work orders for tasks like furniture moves, and light carpentry. </li><li>Logistics & Security: Move supplies between schools and respond to after-hours alarm calls as needed. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent is required. </li><li>A minimum of 3 years of experience in a school facilities department is required. </li><li>Must be a self-starter who can complete assignments with minimal supervision. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. </li><li>Must be flexible and adaptable to changing needs. </li><li>Ability to perform frequent stooping, reaching, and lifting up to 40 pounds. </li></ul> <p>START DATE: October 1, 2025</p> <p>RATE OF PAY: $28.00 per hour</p> <p>APPLICATION PROCEDURE:</p> <p>EXTERNAL APPLICANTS: Please submit your application through our website: www.putnamschoolsct.org</p> <p>INTERNAL APPLICANTS: Please submit a letter of interest and updated resume to Troy Mayo, Assistant Director of Facilities</p> <p>APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: Open until filled</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p>
