<p>The Vibratory Plow Operator is responsible for operating a 1250i vibratory plow to install underground fiber optic and telecommunications cable. This position plays a critical role in safely and efficiently placing conduit and fiber in various soil conditions while maintaining production goals and job quality standards.</p> <p>Full Time Travel Position</p> <p>Per Diem & accommodations will be provided by Verita</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Operate a 1250i vibratory plow to install fiber optic cable and/or conduit</p> </li><li> <p>Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure proper depth and placement of cable per project specifications</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with locators and crew members to avoid existing utilities</p> </li><li> <p>Read and interpret construction prints and utility locate markings</p> </li><li> <p>Adjust plow settings based on soil conditions and terrain</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain production goals while upholding safety and quality standards</p> </li><li> <p>Restore job sites (backfilling, tamping, grading, cleanup)</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate with supervisors regarding project progress and site conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all OSHA, company, and customer safety guidelines</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Experience & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Proven experience operating a 1250i vibratory plow</p> </li><li> <p>Experience installing underground fiber optic cable and conduit</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to read utility locates and construction prints</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of depth requirements and telecom installation standards</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of soil conditions and how they affect plowing operations</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work around other heavy equipment and traffic</p> </li><li> <p>Strong safety awareness</p> </li><li> <p>Valid driver's license required</p> </li><li> <p>CDL preferred (if applicable to company requirements)</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lift 75-100 lbs</p> </li><li> <p>Frequent standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work extended hours and overtime as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Previous telecom construction experience</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with directional drilling crews</p> </li><li> <p>Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working on FTTH or broadband expansion projects</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li> <p>Outdoor construction sites</p> </li><li> <p>Residential, rural, and commercial job sites</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to weather, dust, noise, and heavy equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Travel may be required depending on project location</p> </li></ul>
