Is able to evaluate laboratory results with regards to accuracy and appropriateness.</p> <p>EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <ol> <li>Follows all laboratory and hospital safety policies. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="2"> <li>Operates all department equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines. Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots instrument failures to best of ability alerting proper personnel of equipment problems. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="3"> <li>Follows all department QC procedures and troubleshoots QC failures with proper documentation. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="4"> <li>Participates in inter and intra-departmental QA initiatives. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="5"> <li>Responds to any departments? staffing needs by covering shifts, when necessary. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="6"> <li>Maintains technical competency and seeks clarification when necessary. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="7"> <li>Effectively utilizes all necessary LIS functions. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="8"> <li>Meets performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Self Development. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="9"> <li>Performs and accurately evaluates testing in one or more of the following sections as directed by manager: Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank and Microbiology. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="10"> <li>Is able to prioritize workload to ensure optimal patient care. </li></ol> </li><li> <ol start="11"> <li>Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department. </li></ol> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent required.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Previous experience preferred.</p> <p>LICENSURE</p> <p>American Society of Clinical Pathologists certification (MT-ASCP) preferred.</p> <p>YNHHS Requisition ID</p> <p>150277</p>
