<p>Position Description</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Health Services and Nursing Supervisor</p> <p>LOCATION: District Office</p> <p>Work Year: 11 months, 215 days</p> <p>The Supervisor of Health Services leads and coordinates the district's school health and nursing program to ensure safe, equitable, and legally compliant health services for all students. This role supports student access to education by aligning health services with RCW 28A.210, Department of Health regulations, Section 504, and district systems, under the direction of the Executive Director of Special Services.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license </li><li>Valid Washington State ESA Certificate for School Nurse </li><li>Master's Degree preferred </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a school nurse </li><li>Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred </li><li>Knowledge of: </li></ul> <p>~Nursing practice and delegation requirements</p> <p>~School health laws (RCW 28A.210)</p> <p>~Section 504 and Home/Hospital services</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Commitment to confidentiality and protection of private medical information </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff, students, families, and community partners </li><li>Ability to perform duties in accordance with Board policy, administrative procedures, and legal requirements </li><li>Ability to maintain punctuality and attendance expectations </li></ul> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Coordinate and facilitate School Nursing, Section 504, and Home/Hospital services under the direction of the Executive Director of Special Services.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide leadership to the school nurse team and serve as a resource to staff members and administrators in matters pertaining to student health services, legal requirements, and best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Research, develop, and implement best practices and program models for school health services aligned with state and federal requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, including RCW 28A.210, nursing practice standards, Section 504, and health-related requirements impacting student access to education.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and submit required state and district reports within established timelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Use technology systems for data collection, compliance monitoring, analysis, planning, and reporting of student health services.</p> </li><li> <p>In collaboration with the Executive Director and school nurses, develop and implement an annual professional development plan for health services staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Compile and communicate district and building-level budget needs for health services; support resource planning and allocation.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with and support other district departments (Risk Management, Nutrition Services, Transportation, Operations, etc.) to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate and facilitate required district staff trainings in health-related areas (e.g., bloodborne pathogens, concussion/head injury protocols, AED/CPR, medication administration).</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in district and regional safety committees and represent school health services, as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of school nurses and health room assistant personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Support the assignment, scheduling, orientation, and ongoing supervision of school nurses and health room staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the evaluation of school nurse staff and health assistants in accordance with district processes, as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure safe medication administration and delegation practices across schools in compliance with state law.</p> </li><li> <p>Support development and implementation of Individual Health Plans (IHPs), emergency care plans, and services for students with chronic health conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide consultation to administrators and staff regarding student health needs, health-related accommodations, and emergency response.</p> </li><li> <p>Support special services staff with questions or processes regarding eligibility for special education and 504s as it relates to health services.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee immunization compliance, student health screenings, and maintenance of accurate and confidential health and 504 records.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide temporary back-up for school nurses, as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent the District in regional advisory councils, public health partnerships, and community agency activities related to school health services, as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties, as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Executive Director of Special Services</p> <p>SUPERVISES:</p> <p>District school RNs & LPNs</p> <p>Salary: Determined annually by the Board of Directors</p> <p>Benefits: Determined annually by the Board of Directors include Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability, Phone and Auto Allowance</p> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <ul> <li>Are you eligible for lawful employment in the United States?
