<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.</p> <p>This position is located in the Mental Health Care Line, VA Hudson Valley Health Care System.</p> <p>The VA Hudson Valley Health Care System offers a full range of acute and chronic care services for Veterans residing in six adjacent counties, including, Dutchess, Westchester, Putnam, Orange, Rockland and Sullivan serving over 400,000 Veterans. Services include, but are not limited to medicine, surgery, psychiatry, rehabilitative medicine, long term care, women's health, blind rehabilitation, mental health, substance abuse, PTSD, and services for the seriously mental ill and nursing home care. There are numerous specialty clinics and laboratories.</p> <p>The Staff Psychologist is in the Psychology Department and assigned within Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences at the VA Hudson Valley Healthcare System. Psychology staff are located at Montrose or Castle Point Campuses and can also be assigned to any of our CBOCs.</p> <p>The Staff Psychologist provides specialty care services to Veterans of all eras who are diagnosed with mental health conditions related to their military service. They may also provide services to Veterans who have a history of Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Duties include assessment, individual psychotherapy and group psychotherapy, both in-person and via Telemental Health, and include the provision of Evidence-Based Therapies as well as traditional psychotherapy, as clinically appropriate.</p> <p>Functions OR</p> <p>VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck</p> <p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional</p> <p>Duties include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to diagnose mental disorders and provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services, conduct psychological assessments for clinical or administrative purposes, including Compensation and Pension Examinations, as directed by the Section Chief or designated Supervisor. </li><li>Ability to treat mental disorders through a variety of modalities, and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. </li><li>Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including: individual, group and family psychotherapy, caregiver stress support, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal and other forms of evidence based psychotherapy. </li><li>Provides supervision of trainees conducting direct clinical care. </li><li>Consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. </li><li>Remains involved in program evaluation and/or research activities. </li><li>Provides administrative duties including, attending organizational meetings. </li><li>Additional duties may include: May provide clinical supervision to various disciplines and levels of training, including trainees seeking licensure in psychology. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - $:30pm</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)</p> <p>Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.</p> <p>Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.</p> <p>Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Telework: Not Available</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p>
