As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will inspire hope and advocate for individuals navigating the mental health system, fostering a sense of self-determination and resilience.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <p>As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will support individuals within our Community Peer Program by sharing your own recovery journey, offering tools and strategies for wellness, and connecting individuals to resources within the peer and general community.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide self-help education and connect individuals to peer-run groups, housing, benefits, and community events </li><li>Inspire hope and model self-advocacy by sharing your personal recovery story and strategies </li><li>Assist individuals in identifying goals and creating actionable roadmaps for their recovery </li><li>Support individuals in emotional distress by listening and offering empathetic, nonjudgmental support </li><li>Advocate for individuals in treatment or community settings, as requested </li><li>Stay informed about community resources and developments in the recovery movement through ongoing training </li></ul> <p>What We Offer:</p> <ul> <li>Impactful Role: Empower individuals to achieve self-determined lives </li><li>Supportive Environment: Join a team that values lived experience and the power of recovery </li><li>Diverse Workplace: Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply </li><li>Professional Development: Training opportunities to enhance your skills and understanding of the recovery movement </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring:</p> <ul> <li>Peer Specialist Certification (Required) </li><li>Lived experience with a psychiatric diagnosis, extreme emotional states, and/or trauma (Required) </li><li>High School Diploma or GED (Required) </li><li>Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (Required) </li><li>Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish or American Sign Language (preferred) </li></ul> <p>We Hire for Purpose!</p> <p>Since 1938, Behavioral Health Network has been dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable, and culturally appropriate behavioral health care across Western Massachusetts.
