<p>Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Looking for a Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for Stony Brook Middle School (Compass Program) to work in classrooms designed to meet complex medical needs for students. The LPNs will work alongside a team of teaching and therapeutic professional staff members. The LPNs will perform medical services directed by individual medical orders as well as support student's educational needs. This position requires the LPN to ride to/from school with a student in a specialized transportation vehicle. Medical services include, but not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Taking vital signs </li><li>Preparing nutrition including medical feedings (G-tube, J-tube, bottle, thickening) </li><li>Toileting, including colostomy bag </li><li>Seizure management and monitoring </li><li>Medication administration </li><li>Medical documentation </li><li>Consultation with School nurse </li></ul> <p>Educational student support:</p> <ul> <li>Classroom/behavior management </li><li>Work effectively with all staff to fully implement students' individual educational plans </li><li>Observe, collect data and report on the students of this classroom to the Special Educator and Classroom Teacher </li><li>Responsible for providing instruction to designated students in a structured classroom environment </li><li>Accompany students to general education classroom, specialists, and other areas outside of the special education classroom </li></ul> <p>Hours of School operation: Monday- Friday LPN hours will include transport on the van Additional opportunities: The ideal candidate will also be available to work the Summer Program, running from July through early August each year from 8:00am -12:00pm, 4 days a week. Compensation: The LPN will have an individual contract with Westford Public Schools. An hourly rate along with benefits will be negotiated.</p>
