We invite you to apply, and our Physician Recruitment team will provide an overview of your potential compensation and benefits package.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Site Medical Director/ Chief of Cardiology - Wentworth-Douglass Hospital</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Mass General Brigham (MGB) is seeking an experienced, board-certified Cardiologist to serve as Site Medical Director/ Chief of Cardiology at Wentworth Douglass Hospital (WDH) in Dover, NH. This leadership role offers the opportunity to advance high-quality cardiovascular care in a collaborative, community-based environment while aligning local operations with the strategic goals of the Mass General Brigham Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI) and Mass General Brigham Medical Group (MGB MG).</p> <p>This role combines local program leadership with an active clinical practice in cardiology.</p> <p>About the Opportunity</p> <ul> <li>Leadership and clinical role based at Wentworth Douglass Hospital, with responsibilities for both inpatient and outpatient cardiology services </li><li>Reports to the Chief of Cardiology, Community Division HVI, Regional Medical Director, MGB MG and ACMO of the local community hospital </li><li>Responsible for local execution of HVI strategic initiatives, including quality, safety, efficiency, and patient experience metrics </li><li>Oversees clinical operations and provider performance across all cardiology service lines at the Dover campus and affiliated ambulatory sites </li><li>Combines administrative leadership (0.1-0.3 FTE) with active clinical practice </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Clinical & Operational Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Provide visible on-site leadership and oversight of day-to-day clinical operations across inpatient and outpatient cardiology programs </li><li>Lead efforts to deliver high-quality, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered cardiovascular care </li><li>Supervise and provide performance feedback to physicians and advanced practice clinicians </li><li>Serve as a clinical advisor on operational issues, in partnership with the Executive Director, ensuring alignment with MGB standards and best practices </li><li>Participate in rotational call coverage as appropriate to clinical practice </li></ul> <p>Quality, Safety & High Reliability</p> <ul> <li>Champion a culture of safety, quality, and high reliability within Cardiology </li><li>Lead or support quality improvement initiatives and implementation of system-level goals </li><li>Serve as on-site physician leader for patient safety, regulatory compliance, and Joint Commission or other regulatory visits </li><li>Oversee safety event evaluation, mitigation, and improvement processes </li></ul> <p>Program & Strategic Development</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with hospital and MGB MG leadership to enhance and expand cardiology services </li><li>Foster strong multidisciplinary partnerships with other clinical specialties </li><li>Contribute to outreach, marketing, and network development efforts to grow the program </li><li>Support programmatic innovation, philanthropy efforts, and alignment with HVI system strategy </li></ul> <p>Medical Staff Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Serve as Division Chief per local hospital bylaws </li><li>Act as a mentor and role model for clinical and administrative colleagues </li><li>Represent Cardiology in institutional leadership forums </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>MD or DO degree</p> <p>Board certification in Cardiology and relevant subspecialty</p> <p>Eligible for medical licensure in New Hampshire</p> <p>Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital or large healthcare organization</p> <p>Proven excellence in clinical practice, quality improvement, and team-based leadership</p> <p>Strong communication, collaboration, and operational management skills</p> <p>Advanced business or healthcare administration degree preferred but not required</p> <p>Experience within the MGB system strongly preferred</p> <p>About Wentworth Douglass Hospital</p> <p>Wentworth Douglass Hospital is a 171 licensed-bed community hospital located in Dover, NH, and a proud member of one of the nation's leading integrated healthcare networks, Mass General Brigham.
