It's grocery shopping reimagined - and we're just getting started.</p> <p>If you are passionate about innovation, care deeply about what people eat, and want to be part of a team doing what no one else is doing, come help us build the future of food.</p> <p>The Role: Seafood Fish Cutter</p> <p>The Seafood Fish Cutter is responsible for performing routine cutting, trimming, and processing of seafood using hand tools or hand-operated equipment while maintaining FreshDirect's high standards for quality, safety, and freshness.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li>Cut, trim, scrape, and prepare various species and cuts of fish </li><li>Perform processing duties including slicing, packing, and labeling </li><li>Conduct quality assurance checks on raw and finished materials </li><li>Follow safe food handling practices specific to the department </li><li>Pick, prepare, and pack products into boats, totes, and boxes </li><li>Scan package labels, load packaging machines, and apply printed labels </li><li>Spot-check packaged products for accuracy and proper labeling </li><li>Assist in shutdown and sanitation procedures as needed </li><li>Apply knowledge of production methods and daily operational processes </li><li>Lift up to 50 pounds consistently </li><li>Stand and walk for 6-10 hours per shift </li><li>Perform repetitive motions including bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling </li><li>Work in environments ranging from -10°F (freezer) to 32-40°F (refrigerated areas) </li><li>Work in wet, cold, and noisy environments with exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals </li><li>Operate tools and equipment such as box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery </li><li>Support additional areas of the business as needed </li><li>Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>Fish cutting experience required </li><li>Ability to work Saturdays and Sundays </li><li>Ability to work overnight or early morning shifts (department dependent) </li><li>Ability to stand for extended periods </li><li>Ability to perform twisting, turning, and bending movements </li><li>Requirement to wear oil- and slip-resistant footwear </li></ul> <p>What You'll Love About Working Here</p> <ul> <li>A fast-paced and supportive environment where craftsmanship and quality matter </li><li>Opportunities for skill-building and growth within the Seafood department </li><li>A strong culture of teamwork, safety, and respect </li></ul> <p>Salary</p> <p>$17.25 per hour</p> <p>Total Rewards & Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits - we take care of our people so they can do their best work. </li><li>Time Off: PTO, Safe & Sick Time, and Paid Holidays. </li><li>Health Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, and Voluntary Disability coverage. </li><li>Financial Benefits: 401(k) with employer match and Life Insurance. </li><li>Location: Our state-of-the-art Bronx campus features an on-site gym, cafeteria, and employee market.
