We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Research Assistant II will support clinical studies (prospective or retrospective, with IRB protocols), epidemiologic databases, chart reviews, a tissue repository coordination, and other population-based research not related to clinical trials or laboratory. Assists with reporting and developing new research proposals-trains and orients staff.</p> <p>Does this position require Patient Care? No</p> <p>Essential Functions & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for data collection, management, manipulation, analysis, and reporting. </li><li>Study cohort management. </li><li>Outreach communication with subjects, conducting mailings, follow-up on mailings, and obtaining necessary documents. </li><li>Assists with preparing progress reports with basic prescriptive statistics. </li><li>Gathers information to aid in the development of future research proposals. </li><li>Trains and orients new staff. </li><li>Administrative & Meeting Support </li><li>Coordinate, submit and maintain weekly research team meeting calendar </li><li>Prepare/distribute agendas and meeting minutes </li><li>Track action items and deadlines and supervise completion with student research volunteers </li><li>Coordinate onboarding/ Support onboarding processes for new research staff, including Epic access, credentials, and compliance training </li><li>Serve as primary point of contact for troubleshooting </li><li>Support student interns, including onboarding, training, and stipend management </li></ul> <p>IRB Protocol & Consent Management:</p> <ul> <li>Draft and submit IRB protocols, amendments, continuing reviews via Insights website </li><li>Design/revise informed consent forms and recruitment materials </li><li>Maintain regulatory binders and communication with the IRB for each project </li><li>Communicate with pathology, radiology, and clinical teams to coordinate prospective collections </li></ul> <p>Data Access & Agreement Management:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate, submit and maintain multi-institutional data use agreements/data transfer agreements legal/compliance department via Insight website. </li><li>Track expiration/renewal of all agreements </li></ul> <p>Data Management:</p> <ul> <li>Design and maintain REDCap databases </li><li>Export cleaned datasets for statistical analysis and summary reporting </li><li>Assist in drafting, reviewing and submitting manuscripts, tables, and figures for completed research projects. </li></ul> <p>Liaison & Communication Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Schedule/document student research meetings </li><li>Multi-Institutional Liaison: Coordinate with affiliated institutions/divisions, maintain joint deliverables </li><li>Multidisciplinary Liaison: Schedule/document cross-departmental planning (radiology, pathology, etc.) </li><li>Industry-Sponsored Liaison: Coordinate with sponsors, track protocol milestones. </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to clean, prepare, and export datasets for statistical analysis (knowledge of Stata, SPSS, R, or SAS preferred) </li><li>Proficiency with REDCap (database design, branching logic, data validation, exports) </li><li>Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel - including pivot tables/charts, PowerPoint, Outlook) </li><li>Familiarity with reference management software (EndNote, Zotero, or Mendeley preferred) </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education & Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, or related health/life science field required </li><li>Master's degree in public health (MPH), Health Administration (MHA), Clinical Research, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Nursing Science, or related discipline preferred </li><li>Equivalent experience in clinical research administration may be considered in place of an advanced degree </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to track deadlines, action items, and deliverables </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting coordination, agendas, and minutes </li><li>Strong knowledge of IRB processes, human subjects research protections, HIPAA, and regulatory compliance </li><li>Experience drafting and managing IRB protocols, consent forms, and recruitment materials </li><li>Familiarity with Data Use Agreements (DUAs), Data Transfer Agreements (DTAs), and compliance systems (e.g., Insight/eIRB) </li><li>Ability to draft, review, and support manuscript preparation (tables, figures, formatting) </li></ul> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to clean, prepare, and export datasets for statistical analysis (knowledge of Stata, SPSS, R, or SAS preferred) </li><li>Proficiency with REDCap (database design, branching logic, data validation, exports) </li><li>Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel -
