All while understanding that together we are even better.</p> <p>Shift : Monday-Friday</p> <p>Job Location : Altamonte Springs, FL</p> <p>The role you will contribute:</p> <p>The Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) is responsible for overseeing the review processes of complex patients that vary in age and have different developments in the acute and chronic disease states. Must have proven leadership and management skills that will promote effective and efficient review of physician documentation that supports the patient's level of care and develop action plans for improvement. Must have knowledge and job experience in management of processes, projects and people. The Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) leads, manages, and supervises all facility Clinical Documentation Specialists and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams including, but not limited to, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants; as well as department Directors for: Quality and Risk, Revenue Integrity, Coding and Health Information Management and all Adventist Health System corporate departments, including but not limited to, Office of Clinical Effectiveness, Adventist Information Technology, etc. S/he is responsible for carrying out the strategic initiatives and designs. S/he is responsible to participate in operational planning, design, implementation, and oversee of the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) program at his/her AdventHealth facilities. S/he will develop strong partnerships and interface with senior leaders, campus administration, and key physician leaders to reach the goals and objectives of the CDI which include achieving the highest quality of clinical documentation to produce the most accurate codified information for patient safety, measurable outcomes, and accurate reimbursement. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Director of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) will provide monthly metric reports and mitigation plans to the Chief Medical Officer. S/He will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to provide metrics and strategy.</p> <p>The value you will bring to the team:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Directs the daily operations of the CDI department</p> </li><li> <p>Resolves employee satisfaction concerns in a timely manner, assuring they have been thoroughly investigated and appropriate actions taken, including notification of Human Resources as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides initial departmental orientation, job training and information and confirms staff members' abilities to fulfill job expectation</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for providing and or implementing strategies to improve operations and outcomes</p> </li><li> <p>Determines proactive strategies and methods necessary for a high-performance culture related to CDI</p> </li><li> <p>Supports change management in the CDI department</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the development and oversees the implementation of CDI policies, procedures, and standards</p> </li><li> <p>Supports standards that are consistent with hospital, community and nationally recognized evidence-based practice</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with C-Suite and other hospital leaders to maintain a collaborative professional relationship to achieve goals</p> </li><li> <p>Determines proactive strategies and methods necessary for a high-performance culture related to CDI</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies process improvement opportunities and develops, implements and monitors action plans based upon identified CDI metrics</p> </li><li> <p>Educates and mentors facility CDI staff on interpretation of data and the performance of causal analysis Reports findings to appropriate facility and divisional leaders</p> </li><li> <p>Achieves positive results for the organization related to investigations of complaints requiring the Director's direct involvement</p> </li><li> <p>Available for one-on-one meetings with a wide range of stakeholders for education/development and problem solving</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains excellent professional relationships with facility and divisional leadership</p> </li><li> <p>Communicates and collaborates across the facility in the areas of data and information management, performance improvement in CDI.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides leadership to and actively participates with facility staff to identify, implement, or enhance CDI programs consistent with AdventHealth and facility strategy</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for management of assigned direct reports: recruitment, hiring, coaching/ disciplinary, development, education and competencies, payroll functions and documentation of these activities</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees the effectiveness of the department's recruitment and retention program, taking action as necessary to provide an adequate level of qualified staff</p> </li><li> <p>Coaches/mentors staff to improve their performance and develop their professional skills</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies leadership talent and actively develops leadership skills in staff</p> </li><li> <p>Supports diversity objectives of the organization in recruiting and promoting</p> </li><li> <p>Creates and implements change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and minimize resistance</p> </li><li> <p>Compiles and reviews budgets and justifications for the department</p> </li><li> <p>Assists CMO with operating budget for CDI</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure standardization throughout the existing CDI programs according to industry leading practices</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the development and maintenance of organization-wide policies and guidelines that provide structure for the CDI department</p> </li><li> <p>Develop an active, collaborative interface and structure with AdventHealth Medical Staff</p> </li><li> <p>Organize process improvement/committee on a clinical or product line basis to address documentation improvement opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to the design and development of a clinical documentation improvement program in coordination with hospital and division leadership</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate appropriate clinical documentation to support diagnosis capture</p> </li></ul> <p>The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's BSN</p> </li><li> <p>CDI Experience</p> </li><li> <p>RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure</p> </li><li> <p>CCDS certification or willingness to obtain</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Master's Registered Nurse: MSN</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's Registered Nurse: BSN and/or Bachelors of Science in Health Information Management or related degrees, Registered Health Information Administrator and/or Certified Coding Specialist certification</p> </li><li> <p>Master's in Nursing, business, or health related field</p> </li><li> <p>ACDIS certification desirable</p> </li><li> <p>Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential</p> </li><li> <p>Registered Health Information Administrator or Certified Coding Specialist certification</p> </li><li> <p>RN-BC -
