<p>Manager, Damage Prevention</p> <p>05/13/2025</p> <p>Locations: Brockton, Massachusetts; Hyde Park, Massachusetts; Lawrence, Massachusetts; New Bedford, Massachusetts; Somerville, Massachusetts; Southborough, Massachusetts</p> <p>This position is responsible for planning, monitoring, managing and the overall compliance of the Company's Damage Prevention Program for both Massachusetts and Connecticut Operations. Responsibilities include establishment and implementation of best practices for public awareness programs, field execution, employee training, work processes and documentation. Responsible for evaluating, recommending and implementing automation tools to optimize work schedules, resource allocation, budget adherence and quality control as necessary to ensure best in class performance. Develops and supports work practices that are compliant with Eversource policies, procedures and standards, as well as federal, state and regulatory requirements. Apprises management of status, and recommends modifications to resources, schedule and budget as necessary to ensure both compliance and operational efficiency.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Manages and provides functional and administrative direction to all supervisors and team leaders responsible for administering the Damage Prevention Program. </li><li>Oversees all aspects of the damage control and compliance program areas while remaining fully compliant and within budgetary limitations. </li><li>Leads and integrates all studies, analyses and planning in support of continuous improvement of the Damage Prevention Program. Monitors, audits and reports on compliance programs for internal parties and external agencies. </li><li>Manages and ensures operational enhancements meet pre-determined objectives concerning quality, technical specifications, reliability, schedule and budget and standardizing company practices. Identifies and evaluates new technology to improve damage prevention programs. </li><li>Oversees the management, development and selection of area staff. Manages the development and implementation of safety and training programs to ensure continued employee growth and development. </li><li>Monitors department performance and recommends to management any process changes, cost and resource adjustments that are required to meet company objectives. </li><li>Ensures all work is conducted in a manner consistent with the Company's safety and quality standards. </li><li>Ensures that improvements in systems, processes and procedures are identified and implemented. Evaluates new technology to improve damage prevention programs. </li><li>Analyzes Call Before You Dig (CBYD)/Dig Safe violation data and makes recommendations. May provide testimony and represent Company at DPU/PURA hearings, technical meetings as well as inspections and audits. </li><li>Actively participates, as required, on committees, task forces or work groups representing the Company's industry interests, such as the American Gas Association, Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control, Northeast Gas Association, etc. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Technical Knowledge/Skill:</p> <ul> <li>Requires thorough knowledge of damage prevention techniques, code requirements and management. </li><li>Also requires knowledge of design and construction of gas distribution facilities and equipment, as well as the codes and regulations that govern the operation and maintenance of the gas distribution system. </li><li>Requires strong administrative, communication and leadership skills. </li><li>Knowledge of federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and state code requirements related to gas operations and construction projects preferred. </li><li>Also requires excellent written and oral communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, related discipline or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of ten (10) years managing or supervising groups engaged in gas operations and compliance management. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in developing, integrating and completing projects that enhance safety, system reliability and organizational efficiency. </li></ul> <p>Licenses & Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Motor Vehicle License is required. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing.</p> <ul> <li>Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. </li><li>Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. </li><li>Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires sitting, standing and general movement throughout the office area. </li><li>Manages multiple tasks in multiple locations at one time.
