Come join our team!</p> <p>Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Performs essential job functions relating to all maintenance department issues and activities under minimal supervision.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for systematic and timely maintenance throughout the plant. </li><li>Responsible for all general maintenance duties, including painting, cleaning, fixture/tooling fabrication, installing belts, bearings, chains, etc. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining plant equipment, including preventative maintenance and new equipment installation. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining available equipment uptime. </li><li>Responsible for building maintenance as needed/required/directed. </li><li>Assists the Quality department with the completion of instrument calibration and temperature surveys. </li><li>Supervises and directs all maintenance department employees. </li><li>Supervises, directs, and manages contractors and contractor activities as appropriate. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining the contractor log, ensuring that all contractors receive the proper safety training, and providing the proper liability insurance before performing work. </li><li>Assist in regional maintenance projects as requested/directed. </li><li>Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping procedures, including fully supporting and sustaining 5S implementation. </li><li>Must work in a manner consistent with the EMS. </li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position. </li><li>Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism. </li><li>This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customers' inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders. </li><li>Education - College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred; high school or equivalent plus 5 years of industrial maintenance experience required. </li><li>Must have advanced training in electrical experience. </li><li>Must possess the skills to effectively supervise and direct the work of maintenance department employees. </li><li>Must have experience with welding, cutting, brazing, etc., and working knowledge of electricity. </li><li>Must have general knowledge of hydraulics and furnaces, and be able to read and interpret blueprints. </li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification. </li><li>May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends, and be on call as needed. </li><li>Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. </li><li>Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases, is required. </li></ul> <p>Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to, the following.</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to work in an industrial environment at elevated heights and in confined spaces. </li><li>Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions. </li><li>Ability to bend, pull, stoop, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach to perform functions. </li><li>Ability to move/lift up to 35 lbs. </li><li>May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc. </li><li>Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions. </li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. </li><li>Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc. </li><li>Ability to hear in person and via phone. </li></ul> <p>The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and levels of the work performed by employees, but are not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.
