<p>BASIS Independent Brooklyn Lower is Seeking Camp Counselors and Lead Teachers for Summer 2025!</p> <p>Who We're Looking For</p> <p>We're looking for camp leaders who are enthusiastic about making camp a fun and enriching experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Day Camp Counselors support Lead Counselors and help guide campers through daily activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Day Camp Lead Counselors use provided materials to plan, teach, and coordinate day camp activities for a specific age group, helping campers build personal growth and daily living skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Specialty Camp Lead Teachers plan and lead themed camps with support from a summer team.</p> </li></ul> <p>Camp Details</p> <ul> <li> <p>Dates: Mid-June to mid-August</p> </li><li> <p>Schedule: Full-time and part-time positions available; camp hours are 7:30 AM-6:00 PM, including before and after care.</p> </li><li> <p>Flexibility: Qualified candidates can choose the weeks they want to work or commit to the full summer.</p> </li></ul> <p>Your Primary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain high standards of health and safety for campers and staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist or lead the organization, supervision, and delivery of camp activities to meet camper outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Be a role model for campers and staff with a positive attitude and strong behavior.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent the camp when interacting with parents and the broader community.</p> </li></ul> <p>Essential Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Has excitement, joy, and passion for working with kids.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong verbal and written communication skills with campers, employees, and parents.</p> </li><li> <p>Cooperative, supportive, flexible, and organized.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to build a positive camp community and foster relationships with students.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong work ethic and a problem-solving mindset.</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum: High school diploma and valid fingerprint clearance. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred: Experience working with children, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of personal responsibility.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time both inside and outside the building.</p> </li></ul> <p>Summer 2025 Staff Pay Rates</p> <p>We're excited to offer competitive compensation for all summer camp roles:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Summer Counselors/Assistants: $19-$24 per hour</p> </li><li> <p>Summer Camp Leads: $25-$30 per hour</p> </li><li> <p>Specialty Camp Teachers: $35-$65 per hour</p> </li></ul>
