<p>K-8 Music Teacher</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>This role is responsible for teaching foundational music concepts, fostering students' artistic expression, and preparing them for performances through skill-building and creative exploration.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Implement the music program for Kindergarten through Grade 8 according to the Core Knowledge curriculum</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and deliver engaging, goal-oriented lessons based on clear learning objectives</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly assess student progress and provide timely feedback via progress reports and report cards</p> </li><li> <p>Create a positive classroom environment by consistently applying MVRCS's assertive discipline model</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate regularly with colleagues in the Specials department and assigned Assistant Director</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in all staff meetings and professional development sessions</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with school-wide events and performances</p> </li><li> <p>Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Education required</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience in music instruction or conducting strings ensembles</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively with students of different ages and abilities</p> </li><li> <p>Strong classroom presence and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to inspiring musical growth and performance readiness</p> </li><li> <p>Strong written and verbal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to evaluate student progress and determine appropriate instructional strategies</p> </li><li> <p>Strong classroom management and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, and families</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with state and federal educational laws and school policies</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass applicable MTELs within one year of employment</p> </li><li> <p>This is a full-time, annual appointment, subject to yearly evaluation</p> </li></ul> <p>We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
