<p>Cost Accountant</p> <p>Reports To: Cost Accountant Supervisor</p> <p>Location: Culloden, WV</p> <p>Service Wire Company, a premier supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable, is currently seeking a Cost Accountant in our Culloden, WV facility. If you are looking to join a great organization and an opportunity to become a part of our growing team, this may be the job for you!</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Cost Accountant will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports. The role requires collaboration within the accounting team as well as with various groups of the operations and sales teams.</p> <p>Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Reviews work order transactions to identify costing errors </li><li>Analyzes cost variance analysis and compares actual to system standards </li><li>Performs analysis on labor and burden rates and suggests modifications when needed </li><li>Assists operations with ad hoc analysis on special projects </li><li>Assists with month-end and year-end inventories </li><li>Performs monthly reporting on key performance indicators </li><li>Executes various reports on machine utilization, efficiency, and production volumes </li><li>Prepares or assists in preparing the forms and documents used in capital project budget preparation </li><li>Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify inaccuracies </li><li>Spearheads process improvement to aid in making costing more accurate </li><li>Reviews, analyzes, and reports actual profit margins </li><li>Performs month-end and year-end closings with assistance </li><li>Determines and recommends cost-effective solutions </li><li>Provides product costing for pricing and business decisions </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance </li><li>CPA preferred but not required </li><li>2+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in an industrial manufacturing setting </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Expert Microsoft Office skills to include Excel and related computer applications </li><li>Thorough understanding of accounting procedures </li><li>Proven detail attentiveness, organizational, analytical, and time management skills </li><li>Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) </li><li>Ability to manage confidential information </li></ul>
