<p>Position Description</p> <p>The Director of Development is a strategic leader responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating all college fundraising initiatives, including major gifts, annual campaigns, special events, deferred giving, and in-kind contributions. This role drives donor engagement manages the ZSC Foundation brand and collaborates closely with the President and Board of Directors to achieve annual fundraising goals and advance the college's strategic objectives. The Director also identifies and capitalizes on emerging funding opportunities, manages community activities to support development, and serves as a key member of the senior staff.</p> <p>Personal Touch: All major activities, essential duties, and responsibilities shall be performed by integrating the ZSC personal touch philosophy, which defines our College. The personal touch is characterized by respect, responsiveness, and responsibility in all relationships and is an attitude toward students, colleagues, and community members that demonstrates respect, acceptance, responsibility, courteousness, and genuineness</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strategic Fundraising Leadership:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy encompassing annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, and planned giving.</p> </li><li> <p>Established and managed annual and long-term fundraising goals, monitoring performance metrics and providing regular reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and align funding needs with donor interests in collaboration with academic and administrative leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Donor Relationship Management:</p> </li><li> <p>Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors, alumni, and community partners to maximize philanthropic support.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage donor proposals, impact reports, and campaign materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate donor records and ensure meaningful donor engagement.</p> </li><li> <p>Campaign and Event Management:</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and signature events, including the annual gala, to achieve institutional priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop strategies for alumni engagement, including networking events, and community engagement opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Presidential and Board of Director Support:</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a key liaison to the President, supporting executive priorities and coordinating special projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide executive-level support for the Foundation Board of Director relations, including preparation of materials and communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Represent the President's office internally and externally, fostering relationships with stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Draft high-level correspondence, speeches, and reports for the President.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate presidential communications and ensure consistent messaging.</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Duties and Tasks</p> <ul> <li>Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan </li><li>Planning and evaluating fundraising campaigns and activities </li><li>Identifying and stewarding prospective donors </li><li>Supervising the fundraising process </li><li>Communicating with donors </li><li>Establishing strong relationships with donors </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field; Master's degree preferred </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in foundation, development, advancement, or institutional fundraising. </li><li>Experience working directly with senior executives or boards is highly desirable </li></ul> <p>Employment and Benefits</p> <p>ZSC offers an excellent benefits package including the following:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive base salary </li><li>Comprehensive healthcare plans including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage </li><li>HSA/FSA </li><li>Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Life and long-term disability insurance </li><li>Supplemental retirement savings plans </li><li>Generous paid time off including vacation, sick, and personal leave </li></ul> <p>The position will remain open until filled.</p> <p>The final candidate is subject to the successful completion of reference checks and a background check.</p>
