<p>Job Description</p> <p>General Overview:</p> <p>Under general supervision: Determines initial and ongoing eligibility for multiple public assistance programs, including Ohio Works First (OWF), Food Assistance, TANF/Prevention Retention and Contingency (PRC), Medicaid, according to established criteria; may develop self-sufficiency contracts and assign clients to appropriate work activity. Interviews clients over the phone and in person; collects data; enters data into computerized systems; processes electronic alerts and prepares correspondence and reports; attends training as required; demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Performs other related duties as required.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <p>Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed below.</p> <p>Completion of bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences or other related discipline, or equivalent combination of training and/or experience. The employee must regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. </li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision. </li></ul> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>The duties listed below are intended to depict tasks performed by this classification.</p> <p>Conducts interactive interviews with applicants/clients, family members, and/or representatives to determine initial and ongoing eligibility for multiple public assistance programs as defined above; utilizes interactive interview process through office, home, and/or offsite visits; enters and updates information and data into computer systems; obtains and/or assists with obtaining necessary verifications and documentation; computes budgets; completes spousal resource assessments; evaluates client employability; assigns clients to appropriate work program components; reviews benefit determinations for accuracy; processes changes as reported; processes alerts. Advises applicants/clients/representatives of available programs, services, requirements and community resources; explains client rights and responsibilities as well as pertinent state, federal, and agency programs, rules, regulations and procedures; prepares notification letters of approval, denial, reduction/suspension, or termination of benefits; reads, interprets, and applies pertinent federal and state rules and regulations, transmittal letters, procedural information and updates related to software applications.</p> <p>Monitors and coordinates program and service delivery, and program and procedural compliance; Develops and maintains effective working relationships with agency staff, community agencies, governmental agencies, and service providers; updates and corrects case information as needed; prepares and completes case documentation; maintains and updates client files and records; processes and records changes affecting client eligibility status; obtains client information through available sources. May communicate with community representatives and service providers to resolve questions and/or concerns; act as liaison between client and service provider to resolve problems and concerns. Prepares reports, documentation, and correspondence; receives and responds to inquiries in both oral and written form; processes changes and corrections; operates computer to enter and retrieve data; refers cases of over-issuance or suspected fraud; attends and participates in hearings as directed.</p> <p>Attends meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions to remain up to date on community programs and services as well as policies, procedures and regulations. Attends and/or conducts meetings to provide information on agency and program rules, regulations, and procedures, and to receive information on available resources and eligibility requirements, and/or provider operating policies, procedures, and regulations.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>In all functions of this position the Employee must maintain confidentiality of client data, information and records.
