We are a Top Workplace employer.</p> <p>Role Overview:</p> <p>The Business Process Improvement Specialist will work collaboratively with staff across the agency to identify, analyze, design, and implement service operations speed, efficiency, and quality improvements. This role is responsible for streamlining, simplifying, and improving end-to-end processes, driving continuous improvement culture, with systems, tools, and LEAN/Six Sigma principles to drive productivity and a unified user experience.</p> <p>The successful candidate will be positive, enthusiastic and team oriented with strong passion for continuous improvement and a desire to support the Department of Revenue's mission, vision, and Pyramid of Excellence and to drive continuous improvement across the agency.</p> <p>This role is located at the central DOR offices at the Indiana Government Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>This position starts at an annual salary of $61,022 but may be commensurate with education and job experience.</p> <p>Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.</p> <p>A Day in the Life:</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external customers on projects related to process improvement. </li><li>Effectively guide teams through the completion of improvement projects - including data gathering, data analysis, solution development and implementation. </li><li>Identify, define, analyze, develop, document, and implement process improvements that result in improving efficiency, consistency, quality and/or speed, thereby optimizing performance. </li><li>Improving the user experience for customers and end-users through data analysis and the voice of the customer. </li><li>Provide objective assessment of how well a process is operating and give actionable solution recommendations. </li><li>Coordinate with various business areas to determine process ownership to develop and maintain standardized documentation of our business process, policies, and procedures. This documentation could include process descriptions, process flow diagrams, value steam maps and other related deliverables. </li><li>Build positive and productive relationships with all internal/external customers. Treating all with trust and respect to foster collaboration and teamwork. </li><li>Actively support and incorporate the mission, vision, core values and positive culture principles of DOR. </li></ul> <p>The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.</p> <p>What You'll Need for Success:</p> <p>Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not required. </li><li>Experience in business operations leadership including but not limited to - workflow management, metrics utilization, workload strategy and prioritization, and training and coaching. </li><li>Demonstrated capacity to analyze and understand business processes at a higher, cross functional perspective as well as at a detailed level. </li><li>Proficiency in meeting leadership and meeting facilitation demonstrated by the creation of a fun, safe, collaborative, and productive work environment. </li><li>Experience in leading change to drive improvement and solve problems. </li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills. </li><li>Ability to work with minimal supervision and build credibility with business leaders at varying levels of the organization. </li><li>Ability to accurately and concisely present proposals and solutions to a wide audience. </li><li>Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. </li><li>Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodology experience/exposure preferred. </li><li>Experience/exposure to process documentation and flow-charting techniques. </li><li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. </li><li>Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. </li></ul> <p>A degree is not required.
