<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Part time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Day Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Job Summary / Purpose</p> <p>Prepares and evaluates outpatient charts preoperatively. Responsible and accountable for the complete review and preparation of surgical patient charts via phone, fax and multiple electronic medical record systems (EMR).</p> <p>Essential Key Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Prepares and evaluates outpatient charts preoperatively in an efficient and caring manner, ensuring facilitation of patient readiness for the day of surgery.</p> <p>Conduct pre-surgical work-ups by calling patients and/or reviewing charts of outpatients to ensure completeness, as indicated in Nursing Guidelines: Pre-operative Admission Requirements.</p> <p>Communicate effectively and appropriately with staff, patients, families, physicians and other health team members.</p> <p>Complies with OSHA/TJC and other regulatory agency recommendations and guidelines.</p> <p>Utilizes computer, fax and phone to obtain and input appropriate information.</p> <p>Discusses pre-operative instructions with patients and/or their families if completing PSA phone call.</p> <p>Attends mandatory meetings.</p> <p>Participates in departmental Performance Improvement projects.</p> <p>Participates in maintenance of unit resource materials and orientation of new employees.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education for Staff Job Levels</p> <p>Associates degree in Nursing, or higher</p> <p>Required Licensure and Certifications:</p> <p>RN with license to practice in the state of Iowa</p> <p>PREFERRED Qualifications:</p> <p>knowledge of presurgical preparation and teaching desired</p> <p>Our Commitment</p> <p>Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
