<p>Job Description</p> <p>Department: Human Health Services - Per Diem RN</p> <p>Title: First Aid Station Attendant</p> <p>Employment Type: Seasonal</p> <p>Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Grade Level: Hourly</p> <p>Pay Range: $26/hr</p> <p>Reports To: Manager of Human Health Services</p> <p>Schedule: Weekends and some weekdays.</p> <p>Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., depending on the day. Evening shifts (3-10pm) during event dates in October, November and December.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The First Aid Attendant will examine and treat minor workplace injuries within the level and scope of his or her first aid training and will provide reasonable assessment and care to more serious injuries until qualified medical staff can be reached.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide standard first aid treatment and care for illnesses/injuries of visitors and employees at the Bronx Zoo </li><li>Examine patients and treat injuries within the scope of training and/or refer patients to appropriate practitioner, clinic or alternate care if needed. </li><li>Accurately document encounters to maintain required records and notes of interactions and treatments, and provide details for follow-up as needed. </li><li>Learn and maintain thorough familiarity with navigating the park in order to ensure prompt response to injury and emergency situations. </li><li>Safely operate golf cart around the park to access all possible incident locations in a professional, timely manner. </li><li>Respond to First Aid calls out in the park, and take appropriate control of the situation while considering the safety of guests and staff in the area. </li><li>In partnership with Security, arrange for further medical help or other emergency services support. </li><li>Maintain neat and tidy first aid station and monitor supply inventory </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned. </li></ul>
