The successful candidate will work with students, educators, administrators, and families to promote equitable outcomes through evidence-based interventions, restorative practices, and PBIS.</p> <p>Professional Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in education, counseling, social work or related field (preferred). </li><li>Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (preferred), with a minimum of 8 years teaching experience. </li><li>Experience with MTSS, SEL, PBIS, and restorative practices. </li><li>Strong facilitation and coaching skills, particularly in adult learning and student interventions. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to support diverse learners by building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, while addressing individual academic and behavioral needs. </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities: Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:</p> <p>MTTS Framework Implementation:</p> <ul> <li>Guide school-based teams in implementing academic and behavioral MTSS interventions at Tiers 1, 2, and 3. </li><li>Collaborate with instructional staff to identify and implement evidence-based academic interventions aligned to core curriculum and student needs. </li><li>Collaborate with school improvement teams on data-driven plan. </li><li>Collaborate with building administrators on MTSS processes, implementation and monitoring. </li><li>Support teachers in designing differentiated instruction and scaffolds to meet the needs of struggling learners within Tier 1 instruction. </li><li>Assist grade-level/content-area teams in analyzing formative and summative data to identify students in need of academic intervention. </li><li>Collaborate with school teams to develop progress monitoring systems and use data to adjust intervention strategies. </li><li>Help align intervention resources, instructional materials, and scheduling with student data and needs. </li><li>Support teachers in setting academic growth goals for students receiving interventions and monitoring their progress over time. </li><li>Collaborate with the instructional team to establish clear entry and exit criteria for established interventions. </li></ul> <p>SEL Coordination:</p> <ul> <li>Lead and model SEL strategies and Restorative Practice structures including Circles, Restorative Conversations, and relationship-building tools. </li><li>Facilitate the SSIS Social-Emotional Screener across all district schools and support staff in interpretation and response planning. </li><li>Coordinate SEL intervention supports in connection with the SEL team and external agencies such as Care Solace. </li><li>Serve as a coach and guide to the SEL team in implementing school climate initiatives and behavior response systems. </li><li>Monitor fidelity and effectiveness of SEL-related supports, adjusting strategies as needed. </li><li>Provide coaching and support in behavior intervention planning, conflict resolution, and restorative case management. </li><li>Partner with school teams to co-create and implement Tier 2 behavior and SEL supports (e.g., check-ins, small groups). </li><li>Promote culturally responsive strategies to improve student well-being and classroom climate. </li><li>Serve as liaison between families and school-based support systems, ensuring proactive communication and inclusion. </li><li>Collaborate with Care Solace and other community organizations to ensure access to external mental health and wellness services. </li><li>Assist in the development of family-facing resources and programming around SEL, behavior, and resiliency. </li></ul> <p>Professional Learning & Capacity Building:</p> <ul> <li>Plan and facilitate professional development on MTSS, SEL, PBIS, and Restorative Practices for teachers, social workers, and support staff </li><li>Deliver onboarding training support for new staff on MTSS, PBIS, and Restorative Practices </li><li>Coach building SEL teams in problem-solving processes, data use, and SEL implementation </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy </li><li>Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students </li><li>Ability and patience to work interactively with students </li><li>Skill in organization, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to deliver teaching instruction in accordance with improved curriculum and standards </li><li>Effective classroom management strategies rooted in restorative practices </li><li>Excellent skills in verbal and written communication </li><li>Ability to understand the individual needs of each student </li><li>Ability to effectively use Google Classroom and the student information system - MiStar </li><li>Ability to take accurate and timely attendance </li><li>Ability to update grades no later than 2 days after an assignment has been given to students </li><li>Ability to check and respond to email at least 3 times a day -
