To learn more about what the City has to offer please click here.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Essential duties and responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Director of Constituent Services works on the front lines diligently for the Mayor with the people of the municipality in regards to their concerns, and key issues. Collaborates with, but not limited to with State and city agencies and organizations in close order with the Mayor. </li><li>Director will need to exhibit great patience and tact when assisting constituents, and will have knowledge of The City of Brockton municipality. </li><li>Responsible for directing the office's constituent relations, including representing district residents in matters before government agencies, social services and private companies. </li><li>Acts as a representative for The Mayor within his or her area of responsibility including answering casework correspondence, meeting with constituents, verbal communications with constituents, and serving as a liaison for State, City, district and local agencies. </li><li>Act as liaison to city departments, agencies, and private companies to resolve constituent issues, answer questions and concerns. </li><li>Track and, draft responses to verbal and written correspondence regarding city issues. </li><li>Assist with communications and community outreach, including visits, planning, events and meetings representing the interests of the Mayor. </li></ul> <p>Supervision received: Works under direction of the Mayor.</p> <p>Supervision exercised: Constituent Services Liaison</p> <p>SALARY: $64,505 - $74,000 Commensurate with experience</p> <p>Non-unit, full-time, benefited position</p> <p>City of Brockton residency required or shall, within one (1) year of employment establish residency within the City</p> <p>Work Environment:</p> <p>The work environment involves everyday discomforts of a municipal office subject to frequent interruptions. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting, but working conditions are generally not unpleasant.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Education and Experience: Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with an emphasis in Public Relations or a related field providing education in writing, and public policy; a minimum of three to five (3 - 5) years of work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.</p> <p>Minimal physical effort is required to perform administrative duties. Required to stand, wall, sit, speak, hear and use hands to operate equipment. Vision requirements include the ability to read and analyze documents; use computer and standard office equipment; and operate a motor vehicle. Moderate physical effort is demanded in making site work. While conducting site work, the employee is required to use hands, walk, stand, sit, speak, hear, climb or balance, knell or crouch.
