The Blood Donor Center is a vital area of our health system. This position does required on call one week per month. Duties include interacting with prospective donors, providing information about blood donation, screening donors by conducting a mini-physical and a medical history interview, drawing blood according to specific procedures, administering post-donation care, and assisting donors who may experience reactions during or following their donation. The Blood Center Nurse must complete detailed documents and records pertaining to the donation. Performs therapeutic apheresis procedures to provide treatments. Performs donor registration and audit with the blood center computer .Other duties include preparing work areas and restocking supplies.
