<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Summer Fun Program Staff Member (PT, Hourly)</p> <p>St. Mark Catholic School</p> <p>Overview:</p> <p>The program staff member will be responsible for working with other staff members and the program coordinator to deliver a safe, fun, rich, physically active, and spiritual experience. The Program Staff member will supervise St. Mark students and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being. Under the supervision of the program coordinator, the program staff member will maintain a schedule for participants and facilitate and create plans for daily activities. The program staff member will organize and lead various small and large group activities. St. Mark Summer Fun Program runs from June 24th through August 8th, with no program offered July 4th. The program staff member must be available to work from 8 am to 3 pm with extended hours till 5:30 pm.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Recognizes and supports the unique Catholic Mission of the school by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church. </li><li>Gives evidence of lived Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of personal faith journey; strives to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example. </li><li>Helps build the school's faith community by demonstrating a willingness to participate in and plan summer fun program religious activities. </li><li>Implementation of the daily summer fun programs for children </li><li>Ensures the health and safety of the children participating in the program. </li><li>Creates a fun, experience-rich, physically active, and educational experience for all St. Mark Students. </li><li>Monitors and provides care for the children participating in the summer fun program. </li><li>Provide and actively participate in all summer fun program-related activities (i.e., trips, games, crafts) </li><li>Implement required tasks, such as set up and clean up and other day-to-day operations as directed by the Program Coordinator. </li><li>Act as a positive role model and leader at all times </li><li>Encourage participants to follow proper hygiene and cleanliness </li><li>Build positive relationships with staff, participants and parents and/or caregivers </li><li>To follow all policies and procedures as required. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li><li>Coordinate and oversee daily activities, projects, and programs </li><li>Supervise St. Mark students to ensure their safety, development, and well-being </li><li>Ability to work both one-on-one and with an entire group of students </li><li>Set up and ensure recreation equipment is secure and stored properly </li><li>Supervise students during meals and free time </li><li>Know, enforce, and follow safety and emergency procedures and guidelines </li></ul> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all-inclusive for every task or responsibility.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Practicing Roman Catholic, in good standing </li><li>Experience working with children and parents </li><li>Strong team experience and organizational and problem-solving skills </li><li>Experience and sensitivity in working with a multicultural community </li><li>Good communication skills </li><li>Must be willing to work flexible hours </li><li>Must be creative, imaginative, and energetic </li><li>First aid/CPR training </li><li>Virtus Trained </li></ul> <p>To be considered for this job, please submit a cover letter, resume and 3 letters of recommendation to principal@stmarkschool.org.</p>
