<p>Barnstable Public Schools</p> <p>POSITION: Associate Principal for College and Career Technical Education (CCTE)</p> <p>JOB GOAL: To provide leadership and coordination among the career and technical education</p> <p>pathways at Barnstable High School while assisting the principal in establishing an</p> <p>environment where all students can learn, where employee satisfaction is at a high level,</p> <p>and where public confidence in the school is strong.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Massachusetts Licensure Principal/Assistant Principal, appropriate to building assignment;</p> </li><li> <p>Massachusetts Licensure as Supervisor/Director in an academic field, preferred; Massachusetts academic</p> </li></ol> <p>teaching license required.</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Master's Degree preferred;</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 5 years of experience as a classroom teacher or student support personnel, appropriate to</p> </li></ol> <p>building assignment;</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>SEI Endorsement required;</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated belief that each student can and will perform up to high standards of achievement and</p> </li></ol> <p>behavior;</p> <ol start="7"> <li> <p>Ability to effectively interpret student/school data and identify areas of strength, need, and growth;</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability for strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks</p> </li></ol> <p>simultaneously and meet tight deadlines;</p> <ol start="9"> <li>Demonstrated ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in the face of competing demands and </li></ol> <p>external pressures;</p> <ol start="10"> <li>Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form, with professional </li></ol> <p>colleagues, staff, students, and parents.</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Supports and upholds the mission, vision, and goals of Barnstable Public Schools;</p> </li><li> <p>Works in a leadership role with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, administrators, and</p> </li></ol> <p>parents/guardians;</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Works collaboratively with the District's Grants Manager to write and monitor CTE grants including but not </li></ol> <p>limited to Perkins, Innovation Pathway, PLTW, Chapter 74 and other relevant grants that promote the</p> <p>development and implementation of college and career technical education pathways;</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Works collaboratively with the District's Grants Manager to fulfill all grant requirements: budgeting, </li></ol> <p>purchasing, and relevant reporting;</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Organizes all college and career pathway advisory boards and chairs required meetings;</p> </li><li> <p>Serves as the school's liaison to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) around</p> </li></ol> <p>CCTE programs;</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Collaborates with Department Heads and Curriculum Coordinators on the implementation of existing and </li></ol> <p>the development of new CCTE programs;</p> <p>Approved 6/4/25</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Collaborates with data personnel to accurately report students in CCTE programs to DESE with respect to </li></ol> <p>the curricular, instructional, and operational needs of the programs;</p> <ol start="9"> <li>Works collaboratively with department heads, curriculum coordinators, and school counseling to promote </li></ol> <p>CCTE programs with students and families;</p> <ol start="10"> <li> <p>Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and district;</p> </li><li> <p>Works directly with students in areas of attendance, conduct, and behavioral expectations, administering</p> </li></ol> <p>discipline and restorative practices in accordance with the Student Handbook;</p> <ol start="12"> <li>Ensures that the school reflects a climate of being an orderly, purposeful, active, and engaging place of </li></ol> <p>learning and interpersonal caring;</p> <ol start="13"> <li>Ensures school wide compliance with all safety and security protocols, policies and requirements, including </li></ol> <p>safety drills, visitor management system, CORI and fingerprinting requirements and school entry and exit</p> <p>systems;</p> <ol start="14"> <li> <p>Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters;</p> </li><li> <p>Supports the communication, professional development, and supervision of the faculty and staff;</p> </li><li> <p>Observes and evaluates instruction and provides constructive feedback on performance in accordance with</p> </li></ol> <p>the educator evaluation system with a particular focus on CCTE pathways;</p> <ol start="17"> <li> <p>Assists with faculty and other meetings;</p> </li><li> <p>Provides direct supervision of school sponsored activities;</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.</p> </li></ol> <p>IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ol> <li>As assigned, promotes the learning and growth of all students and the success of all staff through effective </li></ol> <p>partnerships with families, community organizations, and other stakeholders that support the mission of</p> <p>the school and district, with a particular focus on CCTE pathways.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>As assigned, develops/monitors and adjusts the school's master schedule - including all special education, </li></ol> <p>lunch, extracurricular activities, student schedules, half day schedules, and shared space usages</p> <p>throughout the school day and after school, with a particular focus on CCTE pathways.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>As assigned, develops and executes effective plans, procedures, routines, and operational systems to </li></ol> <p>address a full range of safety, health, and emotional and social needs of students, with a particular focus on</p> <p>CCTE pathways.</p> <ol start="4"> <li>As assigned, plans and leads well-run and engaging meetings that have clear purpose, focus on matters of </li></ol> <p>consequence, and engage participants in a thoughtful and productive series of conversations and</p> <p>deliberations about important school matters, with a particular focus on CCTE pathways.</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Implements school-wide routines, policies, and systems that (a) support a safe and supportive school </li></ol> <p>environment for all students, (b) create opportunities for students to take an active role in preventing</p> <p>behaviors that interfere with learning, allowing all students to grow from these experiences, with a</p> <p>particular focus on CCTE pathways.</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Ensures practices that enable staff members and students to interact effectively in a culturally diverse </li></ol> <p>environment in which students' backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected.</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Responds and proactively reaches out to families when either academic or non-academic concerns arise in </li></ol> <p>a timely and effective manner, and supports all educators to do the same.</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Other duties assigned by the building principal. </li></ol> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Typical office conditions: sitting, bending, stooping, filing, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds of office</p> <p>supplies/files.
