<p>Carson-Newman University is a Christian, liberal arts-based University built upon the Lordship of Jesus Christ as evidenced historically and revealed in the Scriptures.</p> <p>Job Title: MSAC Control Desk Attendant</p> <p>Department: Department of Student Experiences</p> <p>Reports To: Coordinator of Recreational Services and Facilities</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Time Requirements: 40 hours</p> <p>Summary Description: The MSAC Facilities Manager is responsible for monitoring the desk area and serving as an area supervisor for the main entrance. This includes managing the overall appearance, functionality, and cleanliness of the control desk area, cabinets and information center.</p> <p>Functional Description:</p> <ul> <li>As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are hired to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan, Acorns to Oaks. </li><li>Open the Control Desk and operate the daily functions of the MSAC schedule as determined by the Coordinator of Recreational Services and Facilities. </li><li>main entrance </li><li>Managing student, faculty, staff and guest check-in and access to all MSAC areas. </li><li>Clean and perform light housekeeping duties. Minor equipment maintenance and log the functional status of facility fitness equipment </li><li>Monitor usage of the cardio room, weight room, walking track and 3-Gym areas to ensure safety and proper use of equipment. Ensure that rules are followed and address situations with facility users when they arise. Communicate with Student Experiences Staff concerning any issues </li><li>Create/revise and/or maintain a database for tracking facility use such as check in/check out processes and research other similar facilities for best practices </li><li>Ability to manage people, problem solve, and mediate conflict </li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Recreational Services and Facilities </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: limited</p> <p>Education: High School diploma</p> <p>Experience: One to two years in a related field</p> <p>Required Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds. A demonstratable skill in MS Office and social media platforms. Strong planning and organizational skills.</p> <p>Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
