<p>Position Title Graphic Designer/Digital Services Division Marketing & Communication(DIV) Department Communications Job Description</p> <p>This position is responsible for developing the conceptual and stylistic direction of the College's visual brand and for the production of digital creatives that support the brand and market the services of the college.</p> <p>Essential Functions - Job Specific</p> <ul> <li>Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality photographs and videos that promote college programs, events, student life, and faculty/staff achievements. </li><li>Produce dynamic video content for a variety of uses including promotional campaigns, student testimonials, virtual tours, etc. </li><li>Manage lighting, audio, and camera equipment for all digital production. </li><li>Develop video and photo content tailored for social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIN. </li><li>Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure media is optimized for web and mobile viewing. </li><li>Maintain video/photo archives for ongoing and future use. </li><li>Produce recap videos that showcase the college's milestones, student success stories, major events, etc. </li><li>Create thematic highlight reels for college-wide initiatives and kick-offs. </li><li>Manage internal marketing screens and exterior marquee including design and implementation and any additional signage made available to the marketing team. </li><li>Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects) and various other programs/tools for digital design. </li><li>Knowledge of video formats, codecs, color correction, and audio editing. </li><li>Strong understanding of social media trends and best practices for multimedia content on various platforms. </li><li>Create digital and animated ads for use across multiple platforms including web, social media, and internal digital signage. </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions - Standard to the Role</p> <ul> <li>Develop creative concepts, graphics, layouts, and logos that form the look and feel of the College's visual brand, while ensuring that the graphic identity and brand standards of the College are maintained. </li><li>Responsible for the layout, design and production of College branded collateral including, but not limited to, admissions recruitment materials, digital advertisements, marquee, digital screens, social media videos, memes, banners, reports, flyers, posters, signs, forms, etc. using variable data as needed on any of the aforementioned materials. </li><li>Work cooperatively and professionally with campus community as well as outside vendors, architects, design firms, etc., to plan jobs, provide recommendations, information and progress updates and act as the College's design consultant/artistic advisor on all visual materials/projects produced for the College. </li><li>Complete file preparation, digital specifications and work orders for in-house supplies and equipment. </li><li>Review final artwork files for accuracy and completeness of text and layout. </li><li>Make recommendations and provide imagery to keep the look and feel of the web site fresh and in-line with branding and marketing strategies that allow for video and photographic updates. </li><li>Research and select or create by hand or digital means, suitable illustrative or graphical elements for visual communications. Assist and give guidance to the Copy Center staff for completion of jobs if needed. </li><li>Conceptualize designs and execute the creation of videos for College events/activities and keep within budgetary parameters while utilizing knowledge of various products and materials to achieve desired effect. </li><li>Maintain records for the Marketing and Communications team electronically and in department files. Follow College policy for records retention. Maintain a filing system for digital advertisements, photography and other digital marketing materials created by the Marketing and Communications department. </li><li>Work with the College to help market events via set up and other tasks as assigned. </li><li>Write, edit and produce internal communications including but not limited to the Westmoreland Weekly and other communication tools/electronic signs. </li><li>Assists with project intake, tracking, and completion. </li><li>Proofread marketing materials. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Other Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Prepare reports, maintain files, assist with office coverage, answer telephones, take messages and forward those messages to appropriate staff members. </li><li>Maintain and develop work related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional and cross training opportunities. </li><li>Attend all required meetings and trainings. </li><li>Perform additional grade level support duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Education & Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in graphic design required. </li><li>Three (3) years of work-related experience in graphic design required. </li></ul> <p>Clearances</p> <p>The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:</p> <ul> <li>PA Child History clearance </li><li>PA Criminal Record Check clearance </li><li>FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>n/a</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged sitting </li><li>Frequent standing/walking or otherwise moving around campus </li><li>Repetitive finger/hand movements </li><li>Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. </li><li>Occasional bending </li><li>Ability to communicate orally and hear conversation </li></ul> <p>Salary $19.65/hr.
