The products that we offer are unique in design, and some include patented features. Products have been developed and tested in accordance with IEEE, ANSI, and NEMA standards for high voltage equipment. They are primarily used by investor-owned and public electric utilities and large industrial operations in substation, distribution, transmission, and generation applications.</p> <p>All company operations take place in a modern 218,300 sq. ft. multi-site facility situated on 20 acres east of Trafford, PA. The facility houses virtually all resources for product realization, including engineering, supply chain, parts fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, and testing. Fabrication capabilities include laser and plasma cutting, CNC machining, CNC punching, and automated bending and forming. The company is driven by the caring people that we employ: the heart and soul of the Cleaveland/Price product line.</p> <p>Your Goal</p> <p>As an Embedded Engineering Manager at Cleaveland Price, your primary goal will be to lead and mentor a team of embedded engineers, guiding the development of innovative embedded systems that meet both internal and external stakeholder requirements. You will be responsible for strategically collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and product management, to define project goals and ensure seamless integration of embedded solutions. You will play a key role driving product design, improvements, and changes to enhance system performance and reliability. Your expertise will be required to oversee the entire development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment, ensuring that all deliverables meet high standards of quality and functionality. You will identify and communicate work priority to direct reports ensuring they have the necessary tools and training to perform their roles. You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of work and cultivating a collaborative culture within your team. This comprehensive skillset will make you an essential leader, contributing significantly to the success and advancement of our engineering team.</p> <p>Your Responsibilities</p> <p>With minimal direction, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and develop a team of embedded engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages growth and skill development. </li><li>Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of embedded system projects, ensuring that all timelines and technical requirements are met. </li><li>Guide the design and development of embedded systems, providing technical direction on architecture, hardware-software integration, and system optimization. </li><li>Guide the design and development of software tools utilized by internal and external customers to support embedded product. </li><li>Collaborate with hardware, software, product management, and other teams to define project requirements, align on objectives, and ensure cohesive integration of embedded solutions. </li><li>Lead complex troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analysis for system failures, and develop effective solutions to ensure system reliability and performance. </li><li>Implement and enforce best practices for coding, testing, and documentation, conducting thorough code reviews to maintain high standards of quality and performance. </li><li>Manage team resources effectively, prioritize tasks, and allocate personnel to meet project goals and deadlines efficiently. </li><li>Act as a liaison between the engineering team and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, technical challenges, and progress toward milestones. </li><li>Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in embedded systems, contributing to the strategic direction and technological roadmap of the department. </li><li>Ensure that all embedded systems meet requirements and industry and cybersecurity standards, maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and performance guidelines. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Your Background</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science from an ABET accredited program or related field. </li><li>A strong technical background in designing, developing, and debugging embedded systems, with hands-on experience in both hardware and firmware, including microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS). </li><li>Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, with the ability to inspire, develop talent, and manage diverse team dynamics to achieve project goals. </li><li>Deep knowledge of embedded system architecture, including hardware-software integration, system optimization, and performance tuning, allowing for effective guidance and decision-making in complex projects. </li><li>Proficiency in project management techniques, enabling efficient project planning, resource allocation, and meeting of deadlines and quality standards. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams. </li><li>Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Cleaveland/Price in the US. </li><li>This position is available at one career level depending on experience, education, etc. </li><li>Typically requires 10+ years of experience. </li><li>Typically requires 2 - 5 years of supervisor or lead experience </li><li>An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for up to two years of experience. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Company paid healthcare, dental and vision coverage </li><li>401k plan (6% dollar for dollar match) </li><li>Company paid Life insurance, AD&D, STD, LTD </li><li>Optional Voluntary Life insurance </li><li>Company paid Employee Assistance Program </li><li>Paid vacation, holidays and sick days </li></ul> <p>This job description is not intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
