Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program. </li><li>This position requires the incumbent to lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more and will require a pre-employment physical exam. </li><li>Seasonal employment means annually recurring periods of work that typically last six months each year placed in a non-duty, non-pay status in the off-season and recalled to duty the following work season it may vary depending on management needs. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Who May Apply: US Citizens</p> <p>In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Oiler - Deckhand without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex duties. I am consulted by other employees or in difficult situations regarding performance of the following duties: operate auxiliary launch or small boats, oil and grease engines, electric motors, generators, pumps and other machinery and equipment, operates main engine and auxiliary equipment, operate deck engines and towing winches, fastens mooring lines, use hand and power tools to make general repairs aboard the vessels. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.</p> <ul> <li>PHYSICAL EFFORT </li></ul> <p>Position requires light to moderate physical effort to include repeated bending, walking, climbing, and standing for long periods of time and lifting and carrying 50 lbs or more. Occasional strenuous physical effort when moving heavy parts, operating chain hoists, pry bars, or when sledge hammering, etc.</p> <ul> <li>WORK CONDITIONS </li></ul> <p>Work is performed inside and outside, exposing incumbent to all types of weather conditions, including excessive heat, cold, humidity, and dampness. Incumbent is exposed to fumes, smoke, gases, solvents, and electrical energy. Works on slippery and uneven walking surfaces and around machinery with moving parts.
