<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>The Prevention Network Coordinator is responsible for the Prevention Network's general day-to-day activities, organization of the Prevention Network, and the Community Prevention Intervention Project's objectives. The coordinator is responsible for leading the Prevention Network through the SPF stages: assessment, capacity building, planning, implementing, and evaluating activities associated with the Risk and Protective Factor priorities. The coordinator will guide the Prevention Network to develop and implement evidence-based culturally responsive prevention strategies that will lead to the long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations, and individuals in substance use prevention. Specific duties and responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Recruit, build, and enhance the capacity of prevention & social service providers in Brooklyn </li><li>Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with other stakeholders including; local elected officials, courts, and public health agencies </li><li>Identify funding opportunities to strengthen the capacity of social service providers </li><li>Plan and execute capacity-building and political advocacy trainings </li><li>Facilitate identified curricula and provide education to identified groups and/or individuals </li><li>Conduct ongoing research of issue priorities to inform campaign and organizing strategies </li><li>Conduct ongoing research on organizational issue priorities and develop an analysis of the local, state, and national landscape </li><li>Conduct regular assessments with social service providers to inform policy and campaign developments </li><li>Engage social service providers to identify key issues impacting the most vulnerable populations </li><li>Inform, execute, and evaluate campaign and organizing strategies to strengthen social services </li><li>Monitor, track, and report on the progress and execution of key grant deliverables </li><li>Ensure all necessary reporting requirements are completed and submitted </li><li>Track and develop periodic reports of key grant deliverables </li><li>Maintain proper records of event summary reports, developments of department goals and objectives, and provider network and individual social service assessments </li><li>Engage the Prevention Network participant base in community and organizing activities </li><li>Develop a plan to engage the participant base in key organizing activities </li><li>Develop logistics and mobilization plans to execute events and activities </li><li>Coordinate resource fairs during organizational mass base events </li><li>Prepare outreach materials, such as fliers, scripts, cards, and posters </li><li>Represent the Prevention Network at interagency and external events </li><li>Collaborate closely with the Prevention Network Parent Awareness Educator & Prevention Network Community Organizer </li><li>Other related duties as assigned by the Director </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated experience working within the school system/school programs, non-profits, and/or social service settings required </li><li>Demonstrated experience working as an Organizer and/or in the public health sector preferred </li><li>Experience working in community-based prevention settings preferred </li><li>Ability to be responsive in a timely manner </li><li>Ability to teach professional development fundamentals to network participants </li><li>Ability to be flexible and adaptable with work schedule as needed i.e., occasional evening/weekend </li><li>Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet required deadlines </li><li>Ability to prioritize and set goals by developing weekly, monthly, and quarterly work plans </li><li>Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team </li><li>Commitment to the mission and core values of the Community Coalition </li><li>Ability to maintain a growth mindset in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Ability to remain grounded in the Prevention Network principles and Key Performance Indicators </li><li>Close attention to detail, responsibility, and dependability in data reporting to external and internal database platforms </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal and presentation skills </li><li>Ability to multi-task, engage in follow-up with tasks delegated, and follow through with strategic plans </li><li>Ability to integrate business writing into professional correspondence and written communication </li><li>Ability to follow a specific training philosophy that prioritizes principles over rules </li><li>Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to integrate the skills with the Strategic Prevention Framework in the development of the Prevention Network </li><li>Ability to implement accountability structures and regular tracking of network outputs/outcomes </li><li>Proficiency in the Windows Operating System and MS Office Suite, specifically Word, and Excel; experience with web-based learning and reporting platforms i.e. (WITNYS) Web Infrastructure for Technology (New York) Services </li><li>Commitment to RiseBoro's mission, vision, and values </li><li>Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities </li><li>Have a demonstrated commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias i.e., people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent required </li><li>Bachelor's Degree preferred </li><li>1-3 years of years of direct experience working within the school system/school programs, non-profits, and/or social service settings </li></ul>
