<p>Position Information</p> <p>Job Title Nursing Full Time Faculty, Open Rank, Undergraduate Programs Department Undergraduate Programs, College of Nursing - 35200 Pay Grade 1 Job Category Faculty Job Summary</p> <p>The ETSU College of Nursing invites applications for three (3) open rank, 9-month faculty positions in the Department of Undergraduate Programsha. We seek innovative and dedicated nursing educators with a strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, practice, and service. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute primarily to teaching in the undergraduate nursing program and, dependent on academic preparation, qualifications and department needs, may be asked to teach in graduate nursing programs. These positions require faculty to engage in classroom, lab, simulation, and clinical-based teaching, supporting the development of future nursing professionals. The new faculty will join a dynamic group of nursing educators with a strong commitment to student success through innovative evidence-based teaching strategies, interprofessional collaboration, and fostering an environment where every student feels valued and supported. This role requires regular, in-person attendance at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. Candidates must be able to commute or relocate as needed.</p> <p>Rank is determined at the time of hiring. Candidates considered for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor must possess a terminal academic doctoral degree in nursing or related field by the start date and demonstrate the potential for research productivity. Some appointments may be eligible for tenure. Qualifications for a clinical track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor require a terminal degree in nursing or related field. Clinical track appointments may be convertible to tenure-track no later than the end of year three of the appointment. Faculty rank and track commensurate with education and experience.</p> <p>The College of Nursing is part of the University's Academic Health Sciences Center, which also includes the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, the College of Public Health, and the College of Health Sciences. The College of Nursing is the largest in the State of Tennessee offering multiple tracks for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department of Undergraduate Programs is home to over 45 full-time faculty and 700 students across five (5) tracks including the Traditional BSN, Accelerated BSN (Johnson City, Kingsport, Sevierville), LPN-BSN, and RN-BSN/Dual Degree. The Department of Undergraduate Programs boasts a record of excellence with 60% of faculty holding specialty certifications and a strong record of collaboration and successful student outcomes. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be engaged in physical activities that involve prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, pulling/pushing, and assisting students in clinical, laboratory, and simulation environments. The employee must occasionally lift and carry clinical teaching materials and equipment (i.e. lift, carry, push, and pull) up to 100 pounds or more. The employee must be able to perceive and respond to sounds and alarms; communicate effectively with others; be able to observe and monitor situations and details at close range in full and dimmed light. The employee will provide clinical instruction in healthcare settings of up to 2-3 clinical courses per semester, with each clinical lasting up to twelve hours per day. Rapid mobility may also be required on occasion. The employee must be able to demonstrate and model clinical procedures and techniques, which may require physical dexterity and stamina.</p> <p>Stress levels may be high due to frequently dealing with numerous students, patients, family members, and other healthcare providers. This position demands concentration and the ability to work in emotionally charged situations.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Nursing. </li><li>Valid, current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state. </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience in nursing. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>PhD or DNP in Nursing or Doctorate in related field; Master's degree in Nursing, with a concentration in Nursing Education or post-graduate certificate in Nursing Education. </li><li>Certified Nurse Educator (CNE and/or CNEcl) and/or Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE). </li><li>Previous teaching experience in higher education. </li><li>Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. </li><li>Experience in obstetric/labor & delivery and/or pediatric nursing. </li></ul> <p>Salary Salary, rank, and track is commensurate with education and experience</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Posting Number F00908P Is this position subject to a criminal background check?
