<p>The Louisiana State Police Special Investigations Section (SIS) is anticipating a vacancy for an Administrative Program Specialist-A. LSP SIS is a group of four statewide units that address specific crimes using specialized techniques, tools, and training. This section includes the Special Victims Unit, the Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit, the Technical Support Unit, and the Cyber Crime Unit.</p> <p>This Administrative Program Specialist-A position serves both administrative and program functions within LSP SIS. Duties include serving as confidential assistant to the statewide Commander, coordinating SIS personnel matters with Human Resources and Civil Service, managing payroll and other administrative duties, and assisting the Commander and OICs with visibility and implementation of program goals for all four unit.</p> <p>An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:</p> <p>Accepting Direction: The ability to be open and willing to follow guidance or instructions.</p> <p>Driving Results: The ability to set and pursue goals, maintain focus amid competing demands, and deliver results.</p> <p>Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning.</p> <p>Selected Preferred Competencies:</p> <p>Adapting to Change: The ability to demonstrate flexibility in thoughts, behaviors, and actions in response to evolving circumstances or unexpected change.</p> <p>Communicating Effectively: The ability to convey information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement.</p> <p>Demonstrating Initiative: The ability to assess situations independently and take proactive steps to address them without being prompted or instructed by others.</p> <p>Displaying Expertise: The ability to demonstrate specialized knowledge, skills, and experience to apply subject-matter expertise in diverse and evolving contexts.</p> <p>Displaying Professionalism: The ability to uphold workplace standards through consistent conduct, responsible communication, and consideration for others.</p> <p>Leveraging Technology: The ability to use digital tools, systems, and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.</p> <p>Managing Programs: The ability to plan, execute, monitor, and evaluate programs to achieve strategic objectives and long-term outcomes.</p> <p>Three years of experience in administrative services; OR</p> <p>Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR</p> <p>A bachelor's degree.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</p> <p>Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.</p> <p>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>As an Administrative Program Specialist-A, you will assist with program operations, coordinate administrative functions, and ensure the effective implementation of policies and procedures to support organizational goals.
